PPF is on the over all car exterior surface. And saving paint as well as clear coating from the damages. It lasts over a year sometimes several years if you care for it. In a nutshell, applying or not applying PPF on a car depends on several factors not a single one.
I view it as nothing more than an additional layer of protection, not an impenetrable barrier. Plus it's easier to clean than bare paint. I have some on the front bumper of my car to reduce how often I get chips or scratches from flying gravel, and cone scuffs from autocross.
You really expected this plastic film to protect it from actual crashes / hard hits? I’m sorry but your iq is low if you really thought that. This film is good for every day normal use and wear. Tiny rocks that jump at your car on the freeway or bugs. 😂🤦♀️

For normal cars PPF not recommended, only recommended for expensive cars. Overall it is not a decorative film but a paint protection film.
Go for self healing ppf and go for best quality only it will easily give you durability of upto 5 years but if you go for a cheap one i m sure it will destroy your paint so go for the best one with self healing

What's the point? If you have to paint even 1 scratch, The painter is gonna have to paint the whole panel. So it's a total waste only
