You should have asked this question many years ago... And the answer is a resounding YES!!! + He is sick and needs treatment + he cant even copy old films properly; all film industries run into such crazy directors sometimes when hype takes over substance; him thinking and acting in interviews like he is special is pure cringe
Overrated? Absolutely Yes. I enjoy him more as a voice for cinema and hearing his opinions than his actual films. If you take away Pulp Fiction from him, which is his one true masterpiece and was very original and exciting I don't think his film resume is that impressive. Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and Jackie Brown were very good but not great IMO. The Kill Bill films were "cool" but I don't really have the desire to re-watch them. His movies all try too hard to be "cool" and most of them don't have realistic characters like you would actually meet in the real world. His movies never move me emotionally in any way and most of them are just homages to other films. He is very talented but his movies just don't move me. They are hip and stylish but they lack realism and an any real emotional stakes.
underestimated one of the most untouchable directors in cinema, if you say that one of his films is rubbish they insult you to no end, but according to you he is underestimated.
i don't think so. He has his own philosophy and style, like any other content creator. You like it, you're hyped. You don't, watch other content then. ez.
It is so easy to throw judgments and critics for those without the creative capacity, you make like or dislike his style and work, but to call him overrated and completely st aside the fact that he created a subgender and marked a before and after in film is just ignorance and …. 😪 a million et ceteras
No, atleast to me. He's perfectly rated. He IS one of the all time great directors, and the most influential director of the past 30 years. He has a distinct style, and has never made a movie that wasn't great or atleast enjoyable. He has a true passion for cinema, and you can feel it in every scene in every one of his movies.
Absolutely yes! I've been saying this since Kill Bill, but rewatching Jackie Brown I realise this character negligence happens even before. This video is right on the money!
underrated? His films gross millions, he has 2 Oscars, but do you think he is underrated? I don't know what concept you have of Underestimating (YT is going to get emotional because of a comment)
If your main pooint on Once Upon A Time in Hollywood is that "Rick is a washed up Hollywood actor" than you missed the entire point of the movie. Yes, he is not mainstream, but he found out that he is a damn good actor and that is what his character is. Rick needs the satisfication of being good. Just become WatchMojo, dont start your own channel to have the most shallow objections to a movie.
Yes, he is.
