You chose a good group! They seem incredibly talented and confident for a Rookie group (in this MV and for the debut I checked out). I added your request to my list, thanks :)
Miss A's debut really showcased their confidence and energy, but really it was just a preview of their overall group concept - basically, confidence and feminism lol, as is apparent in their song "I Don't Need a Man" lol But I believe as a result, that caused a kind of alienation of male demographics as their fans, so they never really blew up like Wonder Girls or Twice.
I dunno who the guy is, some actor I'm guessing XD
Maybe miss A got a lot of attention after winning an award in 2010 MAMA for "Bad Girl, Good Girl", and so that momentum carried over to "Good-Bye Baby", which would have been the 1st comeback after the MAMA.
I would also say that this kind of stable song progression was just super popular back in 2nd-gen. Not only was it a JYP staple for miss A and Wonder Girls, but it was also conventional at the time, as seen in songs from all sorts of groups including SNSD, T-ara, KARA, 2NE1, Super Junior, SHINee, etc. So it was just an overall great song for the time! ;0
Oh yeah true, the MAMA award was probably a huge reason for that. Good point. Also their concept and not addressing male demographics as much is a good point as well. I think back in the day, when international fans were not really a thing or not considered important, that's a huge blow to your fandom. I think today that wouldn't be a problem and probably even something that would stick out positively. Crazy how fast the world can change in only a few years
Yeah, back in those days, international fans were considered more of a niche or "second fiddle" to domestic fans. Nowadays, I hear that some groups are thriving solely because of international fans! Which is pretty insane ;0
