    Oh, this video it's packed with so much goodness. But, before I get into that, yeah, that fabric at the bottom of the hole? That ain't happenin'. I knew that as you said it, but you'd not yet stretched the trampoline. Been there, done that.
    Speaking of stretching the trampoline fabric, you're not weak. Also, I don't believe that you'll find the frame is out of round. Stretching trampoline fabric is just extremely hard. It's not a one-man job, which I think you'll now agree. Thank goodness for rachet straps. They saved the day.
    As for the day, now we're on to the goodness:
    • The girls will never remember that the turf wasn't laid, and every last thing wasn't ticked and tied. They'll only remember all the fun they have on it, and that dad did that for them.
    • "Bounce with us." "Come on." "Wee." Priceless.
    • "Hindsight with Tim." Made me laugh out loud!
    • "It's amazing how much work you can buy for £20 on Ebay." Had another good chuckle with that one!
    • Jo helping with the trampoline fabric and the girls pitching in with the surround. A family affair and the girls have some skin in the game. Love it.
    Lastly, two things:
    1) The air release pipe is probably much more trouble that it's worth. Unless the trampoline fabric has to come off for some other reason.
    2) Cargo netting from the base of the trampoline to the top of the wall might look cool, though I'm not sure how useful it's be as the wall isn't particularly tall.
    Tim, I hope that you're encouraged. You're an awesome dad, and the trampoline is a wonderful piece of work about which you can be proud of doing yourself!

    Great project Tim. If you do end up taking the mat off and on again, it's SO much easier if you put the springs on the mat first and then stretch them over to meet the frame.

      yep you use your body weight leaning back to stretch the springs to the frame :)

    I've had a mental breakdown and am set to attempt the sunken trampoline. Good job and thanks for the video. My question, what about water drainage in the hole. Is it a problem?

    Loved the ratchet strap idea. Another way to stretch springs to a fitting is with a long screwdriver. Feed it through the spring loop and put the business end where you want the spring to end up. Use a prying motion to make the spring fall into place .. or at least get much closer.

    I bet you thought “it will take only 5 minutes” to install that trampoline.! I was with you all the way, some jobs just do your head in! I am trying to build an old unused greenhouse with no instructions, it is like a 3D jigsaw puzzle. Again I thought “ this won’t take long” 4 days later and after much head scratching I think I am there. Was designed to take PVC sheeting but I am going to use Polycarbonate, so looking at other greenhouses didn’t help at all. The blazing sunshine shortened tempers! Anyway well done.
    P.S. I will keep a lookout for a load of artificial turf going cheap.

    i see so many people making DIY videos for inground trampolines, and they say "they are on a budget" "as cheap as possible" etc etc but everyone uses ACTUAL trampolines designed for inground use (they are only like 1 foot tall legs). I looked online and all those trampolines are like $1500 or more though, meanwhile new regular trampolines (3 feet tall) are between $400-600 usually (in my case, i bought a used 15' standard above ground trampoline for $50)

    • @TheRestorationCouple
      @TheRestorationCouple  4 роки тому

      Exactly. This is just a standard second hand £20 above ground trampoline off eBay. Works just fine.

    • @BigRog203
      @BigRog203 4 роки тому

      @@TheRestorationCouple that trampoline cost you £20? The fact that it's legs are about 1 foot tall -- that's a $1800 trampoline here and you won't find one used in the US

    • @TheRestorationCouple
      @TheRestorationCouple  4 роки тому +1

      Roger Castro no it’s a standard height above ground trampoline, I just removed the centre pole section of the frame which left it at the short height. 👍

    • @BigRog203
      @BigRog203 4 роки тому

      @@TheRestorationCouple center pole? Do you mean the legs are built of 3 pieces (one horizontal two vertical)? Mine are like 2 L pieces so shortening it isn't an option without cutting it :/

    • @TheRestorationCouple
      @TheRestorationCouple  4 роки тому

      Roger Castro yes, the legs were in sections. I had intended to just cut it down before realising it was possible to remove.

    An extraordinary project!
    Good exercise tool as they grow.
    Yes, I thought of the wall padding, too, for additional safety.
    Overall, it is great. I wish I could have done a thing like this for my children when they were still young.
    Thank you for this another inspiring video. Shalom to you andyour family!

    I love it, except for it being so close to that concrete wall. Maybe a thick rubber hung on the wall so heads don’t get cracked on it.

    Next time hook the springs on the mat and pull into frame.... ur tryin to pull a taught mat rather than the spring

  • @sparkyprojects

    Put the pipe in, bring it up and put something that spins on the top, like a turbine thingy.
    Tell the girls to see how fast they can spin it

    For some reason I naturally assumed the trampoline would have a sounding mesh/net to stop people from bouncing out. That's what they all have around here (Norway).

    • @TheRestorationCouple
      @TheRestorationCouple  6 років тому +1

      They do above ground, the idea of sinking it is to avoid that. 👍

    You are better putting springs on mat and pulling the end of spring, with the puller, out to the ring, easy... That's how I did mine. The mat is not the stretchy bit. Good job though. I went easy route, above ground with net but TBH yours looks better.

    Wasn't yodel by any chance???
    So far I have a 100% package loss rate with them, 6 deliveries all gone missing, if it was a small item I could maybe understand, but this was things like a hoover and a washing machine, things that can't really be lost that easy.
    Luckily I always have it delivered to a local argos store, so they can confirm that it was never delivered and not just me trying to diddle them ny saying it never arrived.

    Landscape fabric would work better at weed suppression rather than the white garden fleece that you used which is to protect plants from frost, other than that nice job

      @TheRestorationCouple  6 років тому +2

      The white is a non woven geo textile to designed for under hard landscaping and groundworks. It does look like fleece though! 👍
