- Today in the Studio, I'm busting out the wonderful gift my friend Cathleen @COZCreationsArt gave me-a box of glorious paints and powdered pigments from Fluid-Art.co I’m diving into the world of mixed media art by combining these warm, luscious colours with pouring medium to create extraordinary fluid paint techniques. Watch as I create a stunning painting using these vibrant materials. Once the fluid paint dries, I’ll add my favourite gel prints to the canvas, blending textures and colours to craft a beautiful, unique piece. I entered the art world doing pour paintings. Luckily, I have a lot of the Fluid Art Ready to Pour Acrylic. I'm off to use some of it. You inspired me once again! Setting up laptop in art room to follow you step-by-step today. Now if I can only wait to let it dry overnight. I too am patience challenged. 🎨

You read my mind on this one! I’m ADD so I have several arts that I do to rotate through and I started your gelli printing class AND paint pouring at the same time. Worked out great because I use the paints for both, very 2 for 1! lol! As I was deciding what to use as a print, I came across some public domain Asian pictures and I particularly liked one of a woman with an umbrella and I thought I would love to gelli print this and make a collage. Then my brain said what if I put the woman on the canvas and then did a paint pour coming down like rain on her, sort of an east meets west sort of thing? And here you are mixing it and I couldn’t be more excited to make it happen! Thank you!

Froyl, this was such an interesting video.! What a sweet 📦 gift you were given with gorgeous colors tucked inside and with piggy pigments to play and create with! Both canvases were so different. Loved the depth of the reds & orange colors. Especially liked how well the colors danced together and the beautiful fan like flower design that was created from the Geli print. The 2nd painting/collage with the rich copper earth colors created such cool lines and movement. Adding the the 'dance move' characters gave dimension and lots of interest. In fact, in excitement I wondered if you spelled out a secret message there to be decoded? But since you took it off the stencil sheet as a whole probably not. Still so much Fun fun fun🎉 and different with the fluid paint. Thank you for sharing your paintings with us. ❤ 🎨 Had a blast watching your creation unfold.

Hi Froyle, great to see you. Wow those paintings are amazing, what gorgeous colours. I haven't done a paint pour for ages. The only issue I have, is that I live in a tiny flat in the UK, and my art room is my lounge!! The last time I did a paint pour, the paint splashed all over my plain yellow curtains, and radiator!! 😂😂😂 I've never been able to get the paint out either!! 😮But seeing your beautiful art, I feel a paint pour coming on - maybe tomorrow (which will be Sunday here in the uk). just had a thought.... on the piece with dance moves, i'm thinking if it were mine, i would probably add about a 1 inch wide stripe of something like dots or a texture, running from top to bottom, off to the side, running through the circle.... either in bronze or black, or both.... and maybe another shorter stripe (that cuts off 1/3 of the way) next to it. i feel like it would help incorporate the circle element into the painting. just something to ponder, lol... xoxo

Hi Froyle, I found this so inspiring I dashed down to the Warehouse for some pouring medium and cheap canvases. I’m really happy with the results for a first attempt. Quick question - do you finish your paintings (once they are fully dry) with some gloss medium or a spray varnish? Or do you just leave them as they are? Thank you for such a great tutorial 👍
Hi ya! If you use the Liquitex pouring medium it dries super glossy, so I don’t need to varnish it. Show me a pic I would love to see your painting, cheers

They are both gorgeous but I really love the circle of dance moves. That one is warm and buttery, almost edible. The redone is firey and sensuous.
