Best wishes to you! As a mother of a 20 month old little girl, I know being a parent changes everything. Its your motivation to be the best you can for her. It is not an easy way out be any means.
Thanks! Yeah life completely changes once you have a child. And she is such a blast. I know the stigma is that it's an easy option. But once you look into what it takes to prepare and then what must be done after, it's not easy at all.
Well you lost a bet because I was SURE you (and Ryane) would be back...just when you were ready. Life is tough and time seems to just eek on by without us even realizing. But yes, I KNEW you would be back. And I couldn't be happier. Ya know, I say, if you think that weight loss surgery is the road you need to take, then SO BE IT. Just like you said, its not going to an "easy way out" by any means. There are going to be HUGE life and diet changes that will definitely NOT be "easy" to deal with by any means. I think its pretty courageous of you to make this decision to change your life. I'm VERY excited to see you go through this journey. Glad you're back!
Thanks Julie! I always wanted to be back. But just like you said, I would do it when I felt ready to be back. I'm really looking forward to getting started and hope that I won't have to wait too long until I have the surgery.
Best of luck with it dude, I think you're doing the right thing. If your insurance covers it, then go for it. You have nothing to lose. As for the surgery, don't worry about it, these guys do op's all the time and are well used to doing them. The only thing that ever went wrong for me was that I bled badly after each op. They had no idea I had von willebrands ( its a blood disorder that stops proper blood clotting ). Other than that, surgery would have been a breeze. So don't sweat it too much, surgeons are talented people. The only thing I would say to you is that while this is a short term method in getting to a goal, the problem of your eating habits will remain long term, so you still need to do the whole diet thing, irrespective of the surgery. You'll still need to look at your lifestyle, and if you don't make the changes after the op, then there is a possibility that you could fall back into your comfort zone. But as I say, this is a good thing you'e doing. If you're happy with it, then go for it. The less weight you have, the more exercise you can do, the better your metabolism will be. Best of luck with it dude :)
Much appreciated dude. The eating will be a factor and I guess a good thing about the surgery is that I'll be on a very stringent diet afterwards. So unless I want to make myself sick, I have to stick to the proper foods and proper portions. Ryane and I are working on eating better now and once I've fully recovered, I will get more activity in and adding to it little by little. The last thing I want to have happen is gaining weight after going through all of this. I know that I have the control over it and I just need to make sure I do as much as I can now so I can change those habits and continue on after the surgery. Thankfully my insurance will cover a very large portion of the surgery, so that will be really nice. I have my one on one consultation this Thursday so I'll know more about what I can expect through all of this. So I'll probably make another video next weekend. Thanks again man!
You can do this!!! I thought about it myself with a BMI of 46-47 and at 317lbs. Unfortunately I don't qualify under my insurance.
Thanks! I'm not 100% sure what my BMI is right now, but I know it's high enough, coupled with my sleep apnea and high blood pressure, to qualify.
