The question was "What is your message to young black mail voters who feel left out of this economy and how will your economic policies materially change their lives?"
She acknowledge their individuality by saying she is not assuming she has their vote because she is black, and "she must earn their vote" like she does for any other group of people.
She answers the question saying: She will promote their having access to banking capital by getting billions of $$$ to community banks to increase access to capital for startups and small businesses. Specifically, she said that she would increase the current 5K tax deduction for small business startup to 50K. Also, address the obstacles (e.g. historically redlining, bias home appraisals, etc) facing the black community in regard to home ownership. Also, she would work to eliminate medical debt from being on your credit score so ---- she references the impact of credit score on ability to rent an apartment, car loan, or small business loan.
Its fair for you to say that "she has not won you over" or you "are not sure what she is saying". Do you understand my review of her response to the question posed by the NABJ host? When replaying the tape I am sure most of your audience will understand just as I did.
I think it disingenuous once she clearly answers the question (a response that satisfied the hosts) then you further question "where is she getting it (the resources) from?" The bottom line here is "she answers the question posed by the NABJ host with specifics and clarity of thought we all can understand". You can vote for who you wish....and its okay that she may not have convinced you.... but please give your audience the respect we reserve and acknowledge that water is wet, healthy dogs have four feet, and she answered the posed question with specifics and in a way we your audience understands.
The turnoff is that she talks too much and goes on and on about the same things whether she's speaking to young people, families, the "folks around the kitchen table", or minorities, or women, and black men, about this 50K small business startup which is great, but no mention of plans for the "folks" or black men that aren't considering opening a business, except the offer of 6K in order to buy a car seat and crib for a new baby.

You're killing me!!! First and foremost, I can respect you not voting for Kamala Harris. You can vote how you like, that's your prerogative. However, if we're going to have a discussion about Kamala Harris, we really should have an honest one. First and foremost, as V.P., she's helping Joe Biden accomplish *his* policies. When Joe Biden was V.P., he helped Obama accomplish *his* policies. The V.P. isn't the President and to try to "spin it" as Kamala Harris being the President is disingenuous. With regard to Kamala Harris not "getting done" the things on her agenda to get done if she's elected President, there's a fairly simple answer to that question: Congress. The President isn't a dictator, at least not yet, and there are certain things Congress is needed to accomplish. Joe Biden has had a *slim* majority in the Senate and a Democratic MINORITY in the House. So, Republicans will be needed to accomplish what can't be done via executive order alone. I view executive orders as a way to circumvent going through Congress, so if you think having lots of executive orders is a good thing, we can have a discussion about whether or not you think the President should be able to do everything autonomously. With regard to helping Black men, specifically, I think Harris' plans are great because they are focused on helping make opportunities available for Black men to thrive. Giving money to HBCUs is great since I firmly believe in a good education, but having a good education is only part of it. If you can't get a loan to start a business to see if your amazing idea can actually work, your education won't matter at all. On the note of HBCUs, it would be good to see how much money the Biden Administration has given to HBCUs. You can decide if you want to attribute that to Kamala Harris or not. :) lol If you're not planning on voting for Kamala Harris, that's fine. You're free to vote for whoever you like. To try to "paint" Kamala Harris' responses, in this video clip, as anything other than reasonable and appropriate makes me wonder if you have the critical thinking abilities you think you might have. You don't have to agree with her policies or positions but to say she's not saying "anything" is truly absurd. Or maybe you prefer the banter about Haitians eating dogs or blathering on about which rally had the greater attendance.
