They were going to debut with 17 members but 4 left before debut for various reasons hence the name. They are broken up into 3 official units: 4 main/lead rappers (hip hop unit), 5 main/lead vocalist (vocal unit), and 4 main/lead dancers (performance unit). But as you can see they ALL can dance and sing! They are known as one of the if not THE BEST performing group when it comes to choreo in Kpop right now. You seriously have to see their live stages and dance practices. They are self producing as one of the members is on almost EVERY song as producer , composer, and writer along with their in house producer (named Bumzu). I would say 85% of their music is exclusively these two along with other members here and there for writing and producing along with the rappers doing their own rap writing. One of the members also does most of the choreo along with a main professional choreographer. SO they are VERY involved with their music and dances. They are actually under the label Pledis and have been around since 2015 but Pledis recently became a subsidiary of Hybe which is why they are under the Hybe channel.
