David Huppert explores the growing trend of raising chickens in North Carolina within city limits. The story unscrambles some of the myths associated with raising hens, and offers tips for how to assemble your own backyard coop.
Great video....We have six chickens and consider them our pets. Each has their own personality and quirks. Add that too the fact we have not bought a single egg in over a year and all is good.
I'm new to NC and I am wanting to raise hens for the eggs. I loved this video, very reassuring to watch it. Can't wait to soon find where I can get some chicks from.
This gives me peace.
Thanks! Now I have even more ideas for my coop when it is time to build.
True love "they just do their thing ... they are great at being chickens"
I love your video. I wish i could have some chicks in my backyard.
Anybody know how to buy laing hens Raleigh NC?
Hi, I recently bought a chick that seems to be growing up into a chicken like the one on the left at 3:02. Its been a mystery to me forever, and I'd love to know what breed that chicken is.
Thanks!
3:05 I mean. Sorry.
+Eмιℓу Wαиg Yours might be a Delaware, or Sussex, Those two aren't that uncommon to have, and the Delaware's are definatly a old breed.
soooooo beautiful
poor sound
Super sensitive to a rooster crowing? How ridiculous...
It kinda stupid if you think about it. Here where i live they won't allow rooster because of the noise. I ask my municipal code enforcement that it doesn't make sense because dogs make alot more noise then rooster. He agreed but said that's the way it is unless you can bring a petition to change that code which is unlikely.
double standards are everywhere I can't stand it hins are just as noisy if not noisier than a rooster
