The world became dark, and the wind seized its moan,
No more joyful blue skies for the soul left alone.
Once you were in my arms, now your home’s deep and under,
Peace for you, but for me endless grief, constant wander.
I will miss your soft smile, gentle touch, wicked spirit,
Heart as deep as the sea, with the dark secrets in it.
There’s no price I won’t pay, there’s no pain I won’t bare,
If it made all things right, all lies true, all wrongs fair.

No secret can ever be cost-free in life.
We have all lost some part of what we’ve had in the past, we never truly lose though as time is first and last. Poetry indeed is a perfect way to begin to speak deeply and longingly to our loves once again. It does not matter what or when, who or how the loss, whether it be real, imagined, new or under moss - whether it be in a graveyard, church, on sea or land, our vow to the loves we have had are our devote band. And as we deepen into the grief our love expands, it grows and merges into the greater conjoined plan. We become one with whatever is in our hearts and hands, whether we grieve a time, place, animal, child, woman or man. The poetry exuding reminds, strengthens, and reaches us.

Severus Snape reading to the grave of Lily Evans Potter. He was not as well-versed in poetry before he met her, he still holds a fondness for the muggle poet, Edgar Allan Poe, particularly Lily's favourite poem, Annabel Lee, so he reads this poem to her grave every so often so her spirit still remembers beauty even in the cruel world that her son was born into.

Reading a book while it's raining is the most low key savage thing I've seen.
The air around the cemetery was heavy with the scent of wilted flowers and the solemn quiet of remembrance. The gravestones stood as silent guardians in the rain, marking the final resting places of those who had passed on. I sat beside my wife's grave, clutching a book of poetry close to my chest. The words on the page blurred as tears welled up in my eyes, my voice quivering as I read aloud the verses that spoke of love and loss, of longing and sorrow. The sound of my own voice, raw with emotion, echoed off the tombstones, mingling with the quiet rustle of leaves in the wind.
As darkness enveloped the cemetery, I felt the weight of my sorrow pressing down on me, suffocating me with its relentless grip. The poison in my hand beckoned to me, a siren's call promising release from the pain that gnawed at my heart. With trembling hands, I uncorked the vial and raised it to my lips, the bitter taste of death searing my tongue. As the toxic liquid slid down my throat, a sense of numbness washed over me, a final release from the agony of my grief. I sank to my knees, choking back a sob as the world began to blur around me. I thought of my wife, her smile fading into the darkness, her laughter a distant echo in my mind. The weight of my decision bore down on me, a heavy burden that I knew I could never lift. As my vision faded to black, I whispered a final farewell to the world I was leaving behind. The cemetery was silent save for the sound of my ragged breaths, the scent of death heavy in the air. And as I lay there, consumed by the darkness of my own making, I realized that in seeking escape from my pain, I had only brought more suffering to those who loved me. But it was too late for regrets now, as the poison claimed me and the world slipped away into the cold embrace of death.

Awesome composition and imagery, it is somber and melancholic perfection. You can feel his pain in the deepest depths of your soul. It is a pain of eternal separation from someone you hold most dear. It is a pain that nothing can cure - your only hope is to rejoin your love in the afterlife.
‘Once we were alive, once we were free, once we embraced under the sycamore tree. We laughed, we loved, we kissed passionately. And then, in a blink of an eye, you passed into eternity. Now only the memories endure with this grave only baring your name. Yet you are imprinted on my heart, a heart that wants nothing more of this life but to return to your sweet embrace. I will waste away under the sycamore tree until I find you again.’

I wish she had softened up Snape toward Harry more especially when teaching occlumency and had him see his mother in him rather than his father. I think that would have been much more powerful and moving. Someone capable of that depth of love just doesn’t seem like he would be a bully to students. Perhaps just my preference for consistency in characters.
