Wow, just starting the watch through but just want to say how cool it is that Blizzard has included you in the game so directly! With how much time and dedication you've put into their games over the years its gotta feel awesome to be a part of things like that
An addendum to talking about dealing with burnout. I personally find that one of the best ways to mitigate burnout is to set up things to look forward to. You mentioned setting up vacation time which is a good one. I like to order books online because looking forward to a book delivery helps push me forward. Setting up short term goals that can be accomplished in a few weeks helps push you forward.
Feel that. As a big mage enjoyer, I was thinking "omg you have the nuts, this is my worst nightmare, you know what im about to do.. please jus.. ohh" Then his "ohh thats neat" reveals that he hasn't seen that deck yet to know :(
The problem I see with this deck is this: What's it trying to do special, other than just playing fair minions? It's that 1 drop discover duplication thing, right? But what is that essentially doing for you? Just card draw. You're discovering some fair cards and playing more fair cards. Nothing to really make you win. You're just keeping things going. So when you're up against an opponent that has something they're aiming for that will get them the win, they inevitably reach that point and win. Now if you were discovering some discounted big stompy guys, those would be worth duplicating and you could overwhelm your opponent... but you aren't aiming for that. Or you could aim to discover and duplicate a King Plush, then just play him over and over to smash the opponent's face. Also, you need many options for what you'd want to discover and duplicate, because if you only have 1 and it gets drawn, then you failed to duplicate it and your deck loses its purpose.
I want to get back into HS after so many years of not playing but I remember the grind as a f2p player with real shitty, bottom of the barrel straightforward decks and I just can't allow myself to go back to THAT.
I've been convinced since forever that the directors of the Twilight movies were 100% committed to making comedies, and they are masters of their craft.
2:13:00 Glad to see that parrot finally go. ALL of 1 drops end up being very meh with it, since their discover effects give random results. Tracking becomes "draw 1"; rexxar's gift is ok, but you usually want one option more that the others; the scarab is a random 2 drop instead of picking one. And the Scout just isn't good with it. If you played your scout, you played your discovers along with it and already generated a bunch of value. The parrot becoming a copy of that means you might not have any more discover cards and/or it's more value when you already got value and would rather tempo.
This deck would be so much better if he cut Kil'Jaden and played cards to hit the face. Long term value in Hearthstone is garbage because you'll never live to see that value. Basically all the games he won, he won by playing cards on tempo and hitting the face, because that's what's good in Hearthstone.
I have been playing Starship hunter with sasquawk it replays your last turn like 2 starship pieces, arcane starship druid and wheel kil'jaeden warlock.
@@OnetastyJoe It's not his opponents, it's Blizzard. The way the game is designed benefits very strongly aggro and tempo and punishes control, this creates a platerbase that hates waiting around for people playing control decks to figure out how to lose the game with the most amount of turns possible, because no thoughts head empty hit face is by far the most successful archetype in Hearthstone and long term card efficiency and card value decks just lose all day every day.
Day9 uses Hearthstone as a vector for his humor, rather than relying on HS to be the actual entertainment. I think that's why his HS videos are still fun after all this time. The game has changed but Day9 is still the same!
@@OnetastyJoe I don't play Hearthstone, I'm clearly not part of the problem. I am explaining why Hearthstone's playerbase is the way it is. It's not because people are just bad and toxic people, it's because the game has a series of incentives that select for particular behaviors. There's a reason why Magic is different. It's because it's more complicated, even extreme monored aggro requires a lot of thought during actual execution when it encounters certain kinds of decks.
On one hand it's a massive bummer Day9 barely ever plays Magic anymore and there's no more WhatTheDeck and it's been years since spellslingers. On the otherhand with the endless dog shit decisions WOTC and Hasbro have made in the last two months alone I don't blame him.
I'm a HUGE film snob, never would I have dared to watch Twilight, used the "still a better love story than Twilight" all the time. Wife's mother sat me down and I watched all of them in one sitting back to back. They're batshit crazy and ridiculously entertaining. 9/10
Why so down on yourself for including Barrel of Monkeys? Lol. There may be better choices but you said your main goal is to "stay alive". Barrel is pretty reasonable for that.
Can never predict Day9. Haven't played HS in awhile but saw an interesting 100 mana card thumbnail. Interested, I clicked expecting to see highlights of how that card works. Instead I'm treated with Twilight commentary and spider monkeys. I made it to 1 hour and 10 minutes and then I asked myself why am I here only to suffer?
You are the only Hearthstone streamer outside of Trump that I can trust to hangout with in the background. You aren't barking bullshit, or hawking horseshit, or clamoring for clickbait. You're an actual human being.
Yeah, it's one thing to think about plays, or playing against a CPU, but when you're outright stalling a real person it's a bit much. It's almost like saying 'my time is more important than yours, yours can just go to waste'.
Twilight sucked, it was hot garbage made for tween girls. UNDERWORLD movies were good. The fact you even think twilight was tolerable, invalidates everything else you say.
He likes it because it's ridiculous. You really heard the words like and twilight in the same sentence and then turned your brain off. Hats off to you sir
26 minutes into the video: "This card I put into a deck recipe that will be in the game for months is such an obvious cut."
Wow, just starting the watch through but just want to say how cool it is that Blizzard has included you in the game so directly! With how much time and dedication you've put into their games over the years its gotta feel awesome to be a part of things like that
second time actually, if you go on his channel you can see the videos from the last expansion.
He also had the Warrior Sandwich before.
@@blueberryiswar ah very cool! I'm more into starcraft than I am hearthstone so I don't stay super up to date with all of the HS content
That sandwich deck lost me sooo many games
It’s because all the actual streamers have left the game so Blizzard literally has no choices 😂😂😂
Don’t get ur hopes up about this L game, come on. 😂😂

1:10:00 The moment Day 9 choses to do the opposite of the video title lol. Good show
Closest Day9 came. Thanks for the timestamp
"Staying alive for the dumbest payout possible"- Perfect way to play the game.
18:27 Ice Trap waited it's whole life for this moment just not to get played there T.T

I feel like having a card that let's you pick either Quick Shot, Deadly Shot or Explosive Shot, and not call it "Take a Shot" is a missed opportunity
I couldn’t help but notice once you started playing out the barrel of monkeys you started winning.
The problem I see with this deck is this: What's it trying to do special, other than just playing fair minions? It's that 1 drop discover duplication thing, right?

Try battlegrounds, its really fun mode. And easilly u can play as f2p
I am perplexed about what happened at 1:29:00, bro saw the taunts and went "yep im cooked" haha
Day[9] attempts to make a control hunter, then tweaks the deck to make it into a face hunter?

Hence why it's a rather shit game
So does he ever get to use the 100 mana card?
Or barrel of monkeys
He never plays it, and 1h into the video he removes it (but one of his opponent played it)
This feels like armor warrior, but instead of getting 15 armour before doing value plats you summon two 1/4 monkeys 😅
6:43 did he says he does psychedelic mushrooms?
That's why he thinks Twilight is a 10/10 movie series.
Baby Bella are just normal mushrooms. Psychedelic mushrooms tend to have way more fun names.
Also the Twilight movies are great.
I love you, Day9. Long time fan from your starcraft 2 days!
I have been playing Starship hunter with sasquawk it replays your last turn like 2 starship pieces, arcane starship druid and wheel kil'jaeden warlock.
i really like day9 playing HS, just like the old SC2 days it is something relatable.
Wasn’t there a hunter/demon hunter dual card that had life steal and cleave? Like a 6 drop I think? Seems good here for board presence and life gain
So… day9 played slow ramp mono green stompy…. checks out.
just commenting to get day9 to continue the adventures of mighty nutby in bg3
You need cheap, effective healing for this deck to have any chance to survive to turn 8 and beyond. Unless your opponent just agrees to not hit you.
Control hunter every expansion here too
really fun to watch
I open the game and it says The Ceaseless Expanse is banned lol
Damn I would totally play constrtucted again after not playing for 3 years.
How much do I need to spend?
Oh nevermind lol.
Thank you for somehow still managing to make hearthstone enjoyable to watch ^^
Despite all his opponents doing everything they can to make the game an insufferable cesspool of spam

"This card is now banned in one or more formats"
disclosure done right
The chicken is absorbed and become a fish!
Isn't that hunter deck the one he got absolutely crushed by a warlock with?
I feel like dropping the scout is great turn one idk if I’m crazy
Day 9 thank you for making content I can't spend any more money than a youtube subscription, but thank you
Any heal? 😢

kil'jaeden makes the hunter deck become a demonhunter deck :D
did they pay you in wow mounts?
Twilight is fine as long as you ignore things like how the dude is ancient and going after a teenage girl.

hearthstone fucking sucks these days. can't believe I lost 4 years into this shit
have you played the bazaar yet? feel like you would enjoy it
You didn't even watch the video... lol😅
@@AzyxA It's a fair question. But I've only seen it in gameosphere the last 2 weeks and Day9s schedule is set for the next couple weeks.

Haven't played the game in years, nice to see the meta is still just aggro decks.
I know how to spell Bazaar because I play Bazaar of Baghdad in my commander deck 😂
There's a name I haven't heard in a while.
Awesome!

How is bro still struggling with the ranking system
Haven't watched a Day9 hearthstone video in years. Immediately remember why I stopped: watching him rope every turn is so cringe.
Bah, I’m here for his personality not his gameplay.
