I have never heard anything like this before.
It sounds like hope. And like letting go of everything. Honestly I believe the emotion this evokes is what you feel when you are comfortable with your time on earth having run out and your day has come. When it's time for you to go after a long long life but you aren't afraid of it at all. You just let go and let yourself fall into the unknown with zero fear and zero expectations.
It feels like just letting go of everything.
My friend, you should really give yourself to Post Black Metal / Blackgaze. Try Woods of Desolation!

This group is very important to me. Not everyone will hear the melody in their music. Their creativity makes you feel love, despair and drive. I was 17 when I heard about this group in 2014. Now is 2020 and their music is so atmospheric, it inspires to live and create art 💔

I'd also argue that it's got a lot of influence from more modern post-rock (TWDY, GIAA etc). There are definitely moments in these albums that remind me of Tunnel Blanket.

Sadness plays in a unique mosaic style, it's not metal at all and he deserve to be defined beyond genre limits
@@clucknbell4613 Listen to Wounded Solitude and Sadness' earlier stuff. It IS DSBM, it's just DSBM with lots of other influences. Skramz, post-rock etc. are a part of lots of other DSBM bands like Ghost Bath.

i haven't found such beautiful music for a long time, even the cover art transmits me nostalgia and melancholy. My applause, this is pure talent. The last minute of Somewhere is something inexplicable... it sounds like something you wanted is moving away from you, like a beautiful landscape that is lost along the way as you travel.

There's times where this album is the only thing keeping me from going too deep. I put this on and it reminds me of balance. It reminds me that there's always good things mixed in with the bad.
ive raised with the black scene music in germany, my mother died, my father felt in darkness.
paranoia, depression and schizophrenia always traveled with me, not as marked as it would be seen by grown ups but still as marked that it couldnt be seen by grown ups.
and still it was neccesary. the pain was neccesary to relieve my avatar vision i had 2017. the inner dying on LSD, after i played the ana amari singleplayer mode in overwatch, seeing myself there, with my own operated brain bone cancer.
going too deep has no ending. the darkness and nothing has no ending. you can dive into that fearlessly, cause in the end will always be a smol light, thats kingdom hearts lore xD

That way you dictate how far down you are capable of going.. Most people "don't understand" this kind of music because they have never crossed the barrier between "normal emotional pain" and "despair/dreadful angst/ total self hatred/ and longing (for whatever it may be)..sometimes the blade can help "bleed out" the bad.. As a person who struggles with emotional inexpressiveness, the second track literally made me shed a tear on my first listen. This is surely one of the best things i’ve ever heard
If you watch interviews with this guy, it pretty clear music is like a lifesaving outlet for this guy in terms of expressing himself.

I can't be the only one who thinks a lot of atmospheric post black metal is heavily influenced by Xasthur, right? I feel like Xasthur partly pioneered this sort of sound back in the very early 2000s.

Ein wunderschönes Album, dies im Rausch als Hintergrundmusik mit seiner Freundin gemeinsam nach einem harten Arbeitstag, den tristen grauen Alltag des Lebens verarbeiten und sich seiner beiden gefundenen Seelen erfreuen. Truly exceptional. There's so many beautiful things to be discovered in the textures. Probably the best application of the "blackgaze" sound that I've heard.
