Thanks Gerry Blue
Thanks so much !
Gracias.
whoa the sound quality is exceptional!!! One of Robben's best years performing & looking amazing - 'will you still love me when I'm 64...' - oh yeah! better than ever~
Robben is great....as always....but is so lucky to find these talented musicians anywhere around the world to accompany him. Often they have little to no time to rehearse but still make it seem like they played with him forever.....kudo's.. to them ....big time ..!!!
What a Great Sound on that SG.
What a band! What a sauce! Three guys doing all... and Robben, what phrasing, what chord progressions! Thank you GB!!!
These guys play with heart and soul!
As great as he is on guitar, he deserves massive respect as a brilliant songwriter! And those chords on Midnight Comes Too Soon 😲
Robben is totally in the zone and this might be one of his greatest performances ever captured on video. Some of the greatest guitar playing I've ever heard. Period. And Wes & Brian are incredible as well. Robben kills it on every tune - nothing less than superb throughout. The finest jazz/blues/rock guitarist in history at his best
The bass 🔊 player is amazing! Of course I've loved Robben Ford for years! He sounds amazing, as usual.
Thanks Gerry for loading. It is such a study in tone and dynamics. Robbens music at this point is very personal and impossible to copy. I heard the first 4 numbers and I am already full. I will take the rest tomorrow
Glad to see you here, agreed, Robben is on another level!
If someone knows guitar it's Robben Ford.
In mid 90's I was walkin' from the parking lot to Pori Jazz festival area. I heard some decent guitar playing in that 15 minutes from 1 km away from actual area. Coming into the stage area I noticed. Oh this is how that Robben Ford sounds. My very first time I heard something from mr. Ford.
Robben Ford en su tinta, todos los días, Everyday I have the blues! Robben Ford in his ink, every day! Gracias por compartir. (Jorge Villa).
Nice trio. Robben always looks so cool and relaxed - plays and sings with passion though!
Very refreshing to see an actual FOUR string bass played by a monster funk Master! Beautiful tone. Not of that indistinct low end rumble with harsh metallic highs 😦
Wow! great show! ... great music! Robben is a master and the other fellows at the bass and drums too ...feels good! thanks!
I’ve already got tickets to see him in Hanuary of 2020! I can’t wait! He’s top of my bucket list!
welp
Thanks G.B Great upload. He is the master indeed. Robben says in interview's that he loves the light weight of the SG but has not found THE one for him. Imagine when he does.... The version of 'Midnight comes' is just superb.
Absolutely brilliant
EVERY DAY I HAVE THE REAL MEANING OF THE BLUES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
love,love,love this...thank you
So awesome. Amazing band forgive me for not knowing the names. And robben is as tasty as it gets
My fav trio band robben played with
This is so good
The Best Robben!!!!!...
funcki man c le meuilleur!!!!!
Ever since I picked up 'Tiger Walk' at a yard sale for a buck, Robben has been my #2...now #1 since JB passed. A pox on Johnny Depp.
These are great. The real deal. Thanks so much. Its well appreciated, and they are certainly higher educational. Just wonderful.
Thanks!
Great music.. great tune, feeling and good vibes...
robben ford at his best👍
Robben can make any guitar sing.
That telecaster..wow🍾🥂🤠
Excellent
He's so RocknRoll
Oh! I've not seen him play an SG before! this is awesome. Well, he is always awesome but I digress...
Funny, but I just wrote the same about the SG (it's actually a different one than this) in connection to Robbens "Robben Ford Show 6º Festival de Blues e Jazz" (from February of this year) here on YT...
OOHHHHHHHHHHHHHH MAN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
Allen and Little are giving Robben great backing here.. .and Robben was really getting out there on the edge sometimes. I like how Robben plays when he gets in one of his weird moods and not feeling totally comfortable. Jeez that telecaster's got some awesome tone to it.. the best I've ever heard!
what Tele? That looks more like an SG to me! You can even read name "Gibson" at top of guitar.
@@ericscerri did you watch the whole show?? He makes it sound pretty good @ 1:09:50
@@HarlanHarvey76 "Eric Scerri" obviously didn't even consider that Robben just may have picked up a Telecaster (that's right.. a telecaster, with the actual name "Fender" on the headstock!) at some other point in the show! Eric just automatically assumed, that I MUST have been talking about the 'particular guitar' he was looking at at the time he read my comment. Eric Scerri possesses incredible critical thinking skills! This is the stuff of genius! Thanks.. it saved me having to point this out to him! Cheers! :)
One bad-ass bass solo right here! 34:45
I'm curious to know the meaning behind Birds Nest Bound.... Such a killer song
HE AND THAT TELE GO WAY BACK! THERE REAL GOOD FRIENDS! I JUST GAVE UP THE BEST TELE IN THE WORLD. OUT OF BORDEM!
but that was a generous gift to share , & maybe the person is so very grateful.
SG is the sound...Impressive...fits his playing 110%, as for tele? not that much (but, hey....he knows better).
très bon ingénieur du son! Pretty good sound engineer!
I'd like to know his criteria for switching from LP to Tele to SG.
That Telecaster tone! The SG is nice, but the Tele just rocks for blues. While these guys backing him are great, my favorite lineups are still Beck/Brechtline, Panos/Carlton and the New Morning Crew (Brannen Temple, Steve Earle and Lou Pardini). This pairing is a bit sterile. There's no sparks flying. It's like they're afraid to stretch out and assert themselves.
I think these dudes are stellar. But I also can't go past Panos Carlton, Beck, Brechtlein.
These guys are great and they have a funky feel. And most importantly they know how to use DYNAMICS!
Re: Earthquake, a little Billie Holiday in there?
I love Robben Ford and what a fantastic performance by him and his band but not a great exit!?
So what happened there at the end. Clearly, Robben was pissed off at someone in the crowd. He brought the tune to an end very abruptly. Any ideas???
It's been said he hates cameras and pictures in general, maybe that?
what amp Fender ? just with the Dumble & Marshall Cab ? call Robben !
Looks like a Super Reverb
Overdrive Special & Super Reverb
The 6 that thumbed down only want justin and kylie.
There will b a lot of tuning
1:07:50 Checkout the look Brian Allen throws at Robben... after he disappeared for 20 minutes... it's like "What the fuck was that all about?"
Atrange gig. And what about that ending??? I don't get it.
@@lorenzmuller3542 I think Robben was in a pretty bad state of mind throughout that whole show, right from the start. I think he got a bit thrown by the fairly lukewarm response the audience gave when he mentioned having played the festival with Miles Davis years before. Psychologically, it all kind of went downhill from there, and real fast. I think it was a tough gig for him.. something was really bothering him, and he just kind of lost it at the end.
@@yellingelk well it didnt affect his performance, i thought he was excellent throughout, some of his best playing.
@@jondcostaJDC Oh I agree.. he was doing some amazing stuff.. he threw everything at em, and then some!
@@yellingelk Looks to be a pretty small venue & audience for someone of his class.Perhaps he felt he was not appreciated sufficiently.
The odd ending may be related to the fact he was going through a divorce at the time, which had to be stressful. Long marriages coming apart are never easy on either party. I may be way off base here, and I apologize to Robben if so.
Drive
That bass player is amazing. I just wish Robben would hire a really good vocalist.
Robben's voice took a while to grow on me but now I love the whole package. I think he delivers with emotion and his own style.
He does fine! He has a distinctive vocal sound and style.
Playing the blues keeps the grey hairs away...
Makes me seriously regret selling my sg
same here.........I had one in 1970.........looks just like Robben's...........never should of sold it.......O, well
SG’s are my favorite model
He always sounds like Robben Ford on any guitar 🎸
He looks and acts pissed off throughout parts of this, how unfortunate... His playing is still beautifully tasteful and doesn't come across pissed off at all. Great rhythm section too
I noticed that, too -- esp. at the end of the encore -- seemed to leave pretty abruptly? Big fan though.
way better live
