      I have never read a leadership book yet, but wondering if this would be considered moving forward as well. I am a bit overwhelmed on choosing one as there are so many. Not sure which one would be a solid option to start with. I was looking at Leaders Eat Last by Simon Sinek. I have heard about it a lot and just like the title.. As that shows real sacrifice when hungry.... Haha.

    I am neither an entrepreneur or marketer, but I enjoy the insights you share in your videos. I listen to your videos in the background while at work and find myself interested in topics I normally wouldn't care about because the 30 second summaries my friends provide me with when recommending the book just don't do it justice. I like your approach a lot. I said this last time, but I look forward to watching this channel grow.

    What an excellent review. Thank you!
    Constructive criticism: lose the blur transition. It makes your video feel slow. Dated. Fuzzy even. It induces a forced delay. As if you’re hiding some spoiler then revealing it.
    Hard to explain. I would go with zero transition. Just push the words on the screen instantly. No fly ins. No blur ins. Just txt. Bam. (And right over your face with zero bg.)
    Hope this is helpful!

    Hey, I have already read the book, lend it to a friend and needed to validate an idea. So since I don't have the book at the moment I looked for a quick summary on the internet and here is some honest feedback: I think the book was very good because it had a lot of practical examples. E.g. here look at that bad question and now look at the good one.
    I think your video kind of lacks those very good examples (or at least from what I watched).
    For a person, which has not read the book, this might be a good summary, for me it was not.
    Nevertheless, thumbs up and subscribed, because I might find some good literature through your channel :)

    • @RickKettner
      @RickKettner  3 роки тому +2

      I think that's a fair assessment. I'm a big believer in reading the original book. This summary is designed to help people decide if the book is right for them, rather than replace the need to read the book.
      That said, I should have included a few examples to better preview the kinds of insights the book has to offer. Thank you for the feedback!

    • @manwithllama

      @@RickKettner "This summary is designed to help people decide."
      You might practice what the book preaches with your viewers on this.
      What are *we* here for? Why are *we* here? To learn if we should buy a book? Or to replace the book and save ourselves the valuable time?
      My thought is most people are trying to save valuable time and aren't here trying to make a decision at all on whether to read the books or not.
      Blinkist provides this very service. But I rather come here and get it from you because a) it's free and b) you seem more authentic than blinkist.

    • @RickKettner
      @RickKettner  4 роки тому +1

      Yeah, interesting title for sure. Part of me thinks the book would be even more popular if the title was more descriptive, but there's also something to be said about attracting attention by creating intrigue or just being different.

    • @RickKettner
      @RickKettner  3 роки тому +3

      The real cost of reading is the time spent consuming the material, the purchase price is negligible. Yet, even with time factored in, if it saves you from a single business mistake or allows you to better capitalize on an opportunity, it can easily provide 100x ROI.
