IMHO the black and gold 900SS was the best looker of all time, and your bike a VERY close 2nd. They sound and ride fantastic as well. Bloody gorgeous.

Great video. Gives me the confidence to buy this kit for my 79 900SD.
I've not ridden it since 1991 so all the problems I had have been forgotten and I can't wait to hear those Contis again!

Mine’s an ‘81 converted to kick only (from electric start only). The sprag clutch always sounded terrible and in short supply if at all. Not ridden for 25 years and has undergone a full strip and rebuild. I’m hoping for an Easter fire up .

One of my bucket list bikes. Glad to see it now rides as good as it looks. I'm very envious.

Great video and very helpful. I’m fitting exactly that unit on my (now) kick only SD Darmah and your experience is what I’d hope for.

Thanks after two failure from the Dynatech on my small block Guzzi I've been looking at the Sachse. It's either that or back to points.

In the singles we jammed a 2 pence coin between clutch and output. the flywheels had a habit of unscrewing, funny I should have my clutch drum of the 999 unscew itself of late (just after having a new clutch fitted at a Dealer.

My 750 Sport is still on points and sometimes starts first kick, but your Sachse system sounds very good indeed. I wonder if they make one for 'points' bikes (roundcase). PS I did once start the bike 'accidentally' just feeling for compression on a garage forecourt, but that sort of embarrassment I can take! Good video, thanks for posting.

Nice bike. Careful snapping the throttle. Repeated hard impact from the idle stop screw will put a dent in the slide.

Thanks never thought of that, the return springs are so strong. I usually give it three quick openings to spray a bit of fuel into the cylinders before starting. Tickling the carbs isn't enough.

Nice looking classic 👍 Ducati man,👍 they sound Good too, i,m sure it will run Much better with electronic ignition! 👍👍I,ll bet it gets along quite well, yes modern bike are faster of course but they do not look or sound half as good as your Duke!! 👍👍

Do not do what he did with the twist grip before starting. The carb slides bang down on a pointy screw end and mash the carby slide until it won't idle any more. To use accelerator pumps open throttle quickly but close slowly.

Yes good point already mentioned elsewhere and have since changed throttle springs from heavy to light.
