- The polar bear twins at @ZoorostockDeOffiziell explored the outdoor area for the first time on March 4, 2022 together with Mama Sizzel. From now on, with a bit of luck, Skadi and Kaja can also be seen by visitors.

It is so beautiful to get to hear what these cubs sound when nursing their mom, it is a cross between a purr and a gurgle

It wonderful to see instinct take over for the cubs when it came to the water. Momma didn't even show them. And their nursing sounds like a far off helicopter 🚁🥰

Just beautiful! Ya know on other sites…like the video of the Zoo in Ukraine’s keepers staying to protect the animals…(how brave by the way!) But a couple comments were negative on zoos…I get it (everyone has an opinion) but a zoo will allow people to have interaction with rare and beautiful animals that hopefully will in the future inable those animals to be better understood and instill an empathy for their plight in the wild…like poaching/hunting/and human population encroachment that limits their habitat. Steve Irwin said it best…”People want to save the animals they care about!” And zoos allow people to care more about many different animals…obviously it’s not the ideal environment for a animal…but there are a lot worse places to live…and living in the wild can have its own set of difficulties…Should dogs and cats run free in the streets? Or be pampered in nice homes with loving people to take care of them? I’m sure there are many zoos that should be managed better and even many that should be shut down…but those establishments will eventually fail and hopefully those animals can be moved to a better place. We should treat animals as well as we treat ourselves. Gary Brent Mason🌅
