I used to watch this religously as a kid.
Mike Allen I had an orange Grifter when I was younger and a blue one when I grew up. Sadly both gone now though.
Miss this show on TV Liked this when I was between 8 and 9 yrs old back in 1982
They could AND SHOULD bring this back!
Hearing that music again takes me back to when i was a kid :) I used to watch this all the time
Aged twelve and early senior school back then, I used to watch the programme!
@Mouldytone, don't apologise, this is gold. Really enjoyed watching this, British TV at it's best. Thank you.
From an era when tv was good!
amazing show. used to watch it every week on saturday mornings, cheers for posting
Remember watching these , and the junior ones , shows how trials riding has developed since
Class Show. Used to watch it all the time. Thanks for the memories!
I've been looking for proper clips of this for sooooo long - really enjoyed watching these... thanks!
The best day's of my life the 80s I had a Ty 175 and I love watching the Kellogg BMX racing on TV
I’m 37 and my dads still not bought me a bike 😆
Used to replicate it on bmx bikes.
They don't make decent programmes like that these days ..... Brings back memories of my childhood ... Thanks for the memories
We need this back
Loved that 360 works Honda 4 stroke. Used to go out on my XL185S and pretend I was riding it. Those were the days.
top show should bring it back for Christmas
class. was a great show. great to see it again.
omg not seen this in years, what a fantastic program
i never mist a episode brings back good old memories :)
thanks for posting
A few years ago, I wrote to Channel 5 to ask them to make Kickstart again (when they were obviously bereft of ideas) but alas they ignored me. Nag the BBC to put reruns on BBC3! It'd make a big change from cooking, houses and antiques all the time. Even non-bike fans liked Kickstart. Thanks Mouldytone!
This was so great!
This should be brought back...for celebrities. Hosted by Davina McCall and Eddie the Eagle at Yeovil Aerodrome.
Stiofan Mac Carthaigh Hee hee, it took a while but, finally, somebody got it. Jurassic Park!
***** It's a dangerous activity and, I think, one which many of would enjoy seeing celebrities undertaking ;-)
oh this brings back memories. i used to love watching this when i was a youth. Even loved the computer game on the old commadore 16. Yes before the 64. The music is great, i always remember the music
That gap between the 2nd car was savage!
Even though I had no interest in motorbikes I loved this show back then. Me and my mates would try to build similar courses for our BMX's.
Thanks for posting this. Took me back a good few years :)
this was the best after school shows ever on bbc1 ever i never new what happend to this show
id forgot about this program. bloody brilliant.
Thanks for putting this up its neat. I live right by where it took place. The ramp going down to the lake is still there, but most of the other jumps etc are rotten or gone now.
Cooool...
Was there ever a show similar to this but had dune buggys as well as motorbikes in the 80's?
Was that "run the gauntlet"? I remember a terrible computer game for both shows haha
It was often a cruel form of entertainment watching kids usually injure themselves on motorbikes but I loved it, bring it back!
CLASS !!! Theme tune was great too :-D always reminds me of chippie dinners at mi gran & grandad's,happy days !!!
Brilliant , thanks :-]
most of the natural type sections are still around, went there too last year, found the ramp down to the water still there too hiding behind the bushes. place hardly changed.
Lost count the number of times I've been in discussion with friends how it would be great to see something like this again. It would make great tv (I think!) Might even bring new blood back into the sport. Also ouldn't it be great to see the old greats like these + Vesty, Mart Lampkin etc etc do this again ON TWINSHOCKS!
used to love this
remember watching this when i was a kid. Can you image what Health and Safety would say now adays if it were on prime time TV :-(
haha classic tv....some obstacles were so random in this programme; like when they had to go up the back of a pickup truck, then back down :S
@mistofoles You clearly didn't get the part about farmers hiring-out THEIR land, and not public places. Sure, by any means i don't want to hear a load of noise if i was wanting to relax out in the countryside, but if the farmer so chooses to hire-out his land, so fucking be it.
Good work Mr Mouldytone! Ahh, memories....
As for the quality I think it's fine, I've certainly seen much worse on the 'tube.
Wheelie to finish, class.
WHAT? Then there will be something on the telly to watch, we can't have that!
Should bring this back
Loved the bit where he says he's a bunnyhop expert and hes failed it, Great I use to love this someone's got to be selling these on DVD. anyone know.
How good was this?? Ok Ok but I Loved it wrote to Jimmy Saville to be on it!!!!
Great twinshocks!
Fucking fantastic!!!
great!!!
Yes the Yellow one is a SWM Possibly the Jumbo. Same colour yes, but Schrieber never rode a Beamish Suzuki.
This is insane
Lejeune what a superstar
How times have changed
Yes people sit around now and watch the X factor and I'm a celebrity get me outta here . Sad bastards .
The trouble is, there are a lot of bell-ends with motorbikes that love to piss people off. Unfortunately, it's those that have spoiled it for the sensible, conscientious and considerate rider.
Jeff Gerstmann brought me here.
How did the Brit get 60 seconds penalty added on but the American only 20? Surely when he climbed off his bike on the cars he should have got another 20?
i have it.
Can anyone name bikes?
To the best of my knowledge, Boniface on a Bultaco, Shrieber on a SWM and LeJeune on a Honda (4-stroke).
its sunday roast cooked by mum....the nuts!!!!
CLASSIC PROPPER TV DONT GET NONE OV THAT ANYMORE
Is this gameplay of the new Trials Fusion? (jk)
im gonna get colin boniface on facebook.NOW!!
@ekcoman Quite right. Most people (myself included) don't want to be disturbed by noisy, annoying bikes in the countryside (or on housing estates for that matter). And apart from anything else, it's illegal to ride off-road bikes in public areas.
The government has killed motorcycle sport in this country. Farmers loose their subsidies if they hire out land for motor sports (it's ok for car boot sales though). continued...
you cant do this nowadays as the rozzers take your bike off you, should set up places where kids can ride, thats why kids wander about the streets because kids wrapped up in cotton wool by the nanny state
Off road riding has been demonised and the good for nothing wrinkly old ramblers have decided that their rights are more important than anyone else's so they can now roam free over the countryside without being disturbed. cont...
You are thinking of the problem from just the view of bikes when in fact it is a much wider issue.
What you are witnessing is the fruits of a welfare system were nobody can fend for them self's they require help for everything.
It is has now gotten to the point were government is going to regulate food as it can be a bad influence on children.
There is a very large council estate population in the UK and this is going to keep growing.
if your school holidays didnt include watching kick start you wasted your time:)))
