Hand airlift pump

This air lift pump forms a completely different concept of pumping by hand. No moving part is inside the well, so nothing can be damaged. The inflator is easy to understand and can be repaired by nearly erveryone.

so the delivery pipe has a check valve at the bottom? I have seen air lift pumps where they just put air into the delivery pipe a couple of feet from the bottom end without any check valves. does the air delivery pipe also have a check valve at the bottom to let air out but keep water from coming in? I am thinking about a pump jack to operate the air pump. can i lift water 40 feet inside a 1 inch pipe. my well is 100 feet deep but 40 feet to water. i need about 500 gallons a day during daylight.

Will ordinary bike pump work for this application?

the air quantity is acording the pipe diameter. with an ordinary bike pump you may pump very little water. But the main difficulty might be, that you may not find a such a small air pipe (air hose) which fitts into the delivery pipe and leaves still enough space for the outcoming water.

@@EMASbolivia Thank you very much for your reply. You are absolutely right. I tried similar of yours. I replaced 1/2 inch irrigation pipe into 1-1/2 pipe where there is a check valve at the bottom.. it tended to work but air supply needed stronger. I think I might compensate this with a larger dIY pump. Where the pumps sucks the water in through the chech valve and then pumps the air in.
