The robo debt was fixed up for people on the file but not for those on the pension. A heap of pensioners who were receiving dust disease board pensions and who had reported everything they got were given large bills of $5000 or so and told if they didn’t pay it their pensions would be cut off. When I enquired for someone how they worked out the debt and asked for a printout outlining how they had come to the amount owed, they simply told me that they had a new computer which had gone back over all the records (at least for those on dust disease pensions) and that it had worked out the debt. They would not let pensioners pay off the amount each fortnight but constantly harassed and pressured the pensioner to pay it now or they would be cut off their pension! Please pass that on to them and get them to investigate that.
