There are some small fridges like the Dometic CFX3 25 that would protect you if you get stranded. No ice to buy, no melted ice to deal with, no food being ruined because of water. :) Great video.
I saw those, just didn't want to spend the money on it. The cooler is fine for multiple days and if I'm stranded for multiple days then I may have bigger fish to fry. I appreciate the input!
The Outback Wilderness makes driving through torrential downpours and blizzards feel downright cozy compared to any other vehicle I've ever had/driven. It's quiet inside even in the worst conditions, and it handles and grips with such surety that, with some good coffee and music, there's an element of chrysalism that makes the OBW a darned nice place to be.
Good idea on the iPad setup, I might think about trying that. I set up about the same with my photo gear. I still use a 30-plus year old Domke camera bag to operate out of in front. When I’m done, I found I can set the whole bag in a Pelican 1510 wheeled carry on (took all the foam out). I have a couple other Pelican 1550’s that will each hold three Pelican small packing cubes, or a 100-400 Sony telephoto in case. Each cube is labeled - on top, film cameras, Hasselblad, audio, etc… So I can pull out things as needed on location. I’ve got PD connects on them, so can throw on a shoulder strap and carry them individually. Then I bought a pack of eight padlocks that are keyed alike. One lock on each Pelican, then I have a small chain goes through the handles and each end is padlocked to the cargo tie-downs in the rear of the OBW. Won’t stop a dedicated thief, but gives some protection from a smash and grab. Good luck on the trip. :-)
I used to chase storms when I was a teenager in Oklahoma back in the 90s (there wasn’t much to do!). But never had the opportunity now that I’m an adult and into photography. But I just got to Santa Fe for the summer so hoping to brush up on the subject with some AZ and NM monsoons! Wish RadarScope would push out an update for carplay like MyRadar did.
Hi Josh Im Sonny from Maryland I have 22 subaru outback wilderness same as yous 22. I really like the setup for both . what is the deference bitween the 22 and the 24 transmissions ? tnaks
Do yourself a favor PLEASE> Get solid multi-terraion tires. Wilderness tires ( I have a 2024) aren't worth much in mud / wet dirt roads. Also, ger a rear locker. It's the #1 thing you can do to increase the offroading capability of your Outback. A rear locker will save you when the x-mode can't figure things out. FInally, don't make the mistake most folks make. WHen relying on x-mode give it LOTS OF THROTTLE. It can't regulate and move you forward if it doesn't have available power to do anything. I'm a big lover of storm chasing myself.
For the love of God you really don’t listen. People have given you good feedback in previous videos on showing your face more than the car.. We got more of a tour on your face than the actual car. Made the video not worth watching. I give up . Unsubscribed
Told him about this a couple videos back. Sad to see he still doing the same thing despite more and more people speaking up about it . Anyway . We did all we could do . Time to unsubscribe if it bothers you that much (it bothered me that much so I also unsubscribed)
If this is the direction your channel is taking, I like it. Would love to see some weather footage and some photography results, too.
Sincerely appreciate that!
Love your content man! Keep it up!
Thank you, my friend!

For the luv of Mike, develop the film, 20 years ago you were going to the photomart all the time so no worries.

I would have to agree with you entirely on that. Appreciate the comment!
Cant wait to shoot a season with you man. Solid set up!
Likewise, brother!

Great info, dude! I really like the idea of tossing the entire bag in a pelican case and being able to roll it around. I may steal that idea from you.

If radar scope had car play I would be a happy man. Get with me when you make it to Sante Fe, I’m all about monsoon chasing.
Do you have a phone mount? I haven’t found a great option yet for the Outback.
Enjoy your insights & adventures.
Still don't have one, I did find one and I'm waiting to receive it. Video coming on that.
@@roamingwithjosh Thanks for the response Josh! I am looking forward to that video.

I'm not sure there is any difference in the transmission.
Do you do anything in terms of extra security alarm ect for your vehicles?
I do not, which is probably stupid considering my latest debacle in Vegas.
Are you one of Ryan Hall's or RadarOmega's storm chasers?
I am not. I prefer to be freelance and do my own thing.
bro it's not black coffee if you put four splenda and half/half in it. black coffee is coffee with nothing in it.
I can't even believe you took the time to write this.
lol I was actually looking for this comment. Light and SUPER sweet!

Have you not seen Josh's tire video for this Wilderness?
Talking on the phone ain’t so dangerous, just don’t eat the sandwich and drink the coffee while doing it. Be safe!
lol thanks for the tip!
