Several things: First, thank you for using your musical background in your reaction to Dimash. I enjoyed it. Second, I also think Dimash is the best on the planet. I will go a step beyond that to say that I think Dimash is one of those very, very rare individuals who is a true master at what he does . Like many of those figures in history, the future may appreciate him more than his contemporaries. Perhaps the internet will modify that historical trend. Finally, a good part of my career was spent in literary analysis. I say that in order to add a little credence to the next ideas. I guess I spot patterns easily because of that. Anyway, Dimash added three new songs at this event. I see them as very different but also very connected. I have found no statement or interview that adds facts to "Stranger." We know that he asked Jordan to write lyrics to "Fly Away" relating to artistic freedom. We also know that he asked Krutoy to write him an Ave Maria. The lyrics of "Stranger" tells us exactly what it is about, Stranger...new land...begin again...in ancient times I wondered [the same land], yet he's a stranger]. ..Lives and loves I've lost. A reincarnated new birth? That is what is seems to be saying, especially the second verse which Dimash does not include. "Ave Maria" is the most heavenly song I've ever heard. Its name also adds to that idea as well. So, if we have birth and death in his first and third new song, "Fly Away" seems to pertain to the in-between, the life of an artist. Think about that one. I will also note that the sphere you mentioned in "Stranger" appears in a different form in "Fly Away." Sorry this is so long, but this is really just a sketch. There are other patterns all supporting this possible interpretation. Good literature and other forms of art always leaves patterns, but rarely definitive facts, so other interpretations may work as well.

On August 19, 2021, for the first time the sound of kobyz was heard on the stage of the New Wave Hall in Sochi Olympic Park.
Here is playing the best Kobys player in the world, Dimash’s friend Olzhas Qurmanbeck.
This bowl-neck lute played with a bow is is an old Turkic stringed instrument and called Kobys or Kylkobyz in Kazakhstan. The Kyrgyz variant, for example, is called the kyl-kyyak.
The Kobys is the oldest string instrument in the world and, according to a German scientist, it spread beyond the borders of the nomadic area of Central Asia and became the prototype of all European string instruments.
(Turkic means: The Turkic peoples are a collection of ethnic groups from Central, East, North and West Asia as well as parts of Europe and North Africa who speak Turkic languages.)
A legend about Kobyz says that this instrument was created by the great steppe narrator Korkyt-Ata, who lived in the 10th century and that the tool is charged with magical and even mystical properties and sounds like animal voices. In addition, the Kazakh people believed that the spirits of their ancestors spoke to them through this music.
The old outlook and piety towards their instruments and music was constantly preserved in traditional Kazakh society and ensured the highest spiritual level of musical art and a special respectful attitude towards musical instruments. Simple people, for example, did not dare to touch the shaman's Kobyz. It is said: The balance between the courses of life and death on earth can be maintained by playing the Kobyz.

Recently he did another version of this, I think for the Tokoyo Jazz Festival. Whether you formally react or not, you should listen to it. His bass sounds even better and he played with his voice in different ways.

A couple of extras for info. In this song he sings about 20 secs on one breath, from the 'Ahh' in F and continuing through the '-gaaaiiiin' in F#3. He can do longer. I believe so far his max on one breath that we have seen was 23 seconds, with multiple runs and melismas in the song Sinful Passion. He swims under water to expand his lung capacity. Historically I believe that some of the best Kazakh traditional singers can sing 1 min 30 secs or so on one breath. I imagine he thinks he's not doing very well at only 20 seconds LOL. So there may well be more to come from Dimash where breath work is concerned.
There was a London concert where he was sick and that is the only time I have heard him out of key for several songs running. He was running with sweat and apparently had a high fever.
