Just bought and installed! It sounds amazing! Very happy. One little problem tho, there is a very prominent and obvious drone from 2 to 3 Thousand RPM. Anything you guys can recommend to solve that?
Glad you're enjoying the system! With this being our "Competition" system we had to make some compromises between power output, weight, and drone. So that little range of drone is to be expected since we designed to be used primarily in the upper RPM band., Nowe if you wanted a system that was a bit more liveable, our Valvetronic is an excellent choice and we are currently working to make it even more liveable in the problematic 2-3k RPM range.
@Gary Hartell The whole line is the 718 series, but apparently because the Spyder uses the new flat six it is not referred to as Boxster. Porsche only refers to it as the 718 Spyder. Probably some marketing monkey's idea though, because event the new flat six is a boxster engine :-)
In the United States, this is actually not true at all thanks to the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. This law states that the manufacturer must prove that the aftermarket part is the direct cause of a failure for the warranty to be voided in that instance. So, if your piston rings fail at 1000 miles and you have a Fabspeed cat-back exhaust, Porsche would have no way to show that an exhaust that does not affect the emissions or tuning systems of the car caused the piston ring failure and your warranty would be intact. Not to mention, we have Porsche Dealers who are Authorized Dealers/Installers of our parts.
@@FabspeedMotorsport Obviously you have a vested interested to say that. However In the example you used, a manufacturer, especially a performance orientated one like Porsche, could easily State that the back pressure change affected the normal running conditions of the vehicles motor (ie leakage). When a car is brought in for a warranty claim, pages of engine metrics/data is downloaded from the DME. If the info in this data indicates it, the warranty can be denied and they are within their rights to do so. The forums are full of denied warranty claims for all matter of things including alterations with modified exhaust systems. At the end of the day it will come down to each specific case. Neither you nor any other aftermarkets manufacturer can 100% guarantee that it will not void manufacturers warranty regardless of the Magnuson - Moss warranty act. Consequently it would be an expensive & time consuming venture fighting them on it & you will need to prove it didnt.
Wow, sounds perfect almost like a 911 993 engine. Brings back memories. Thank you for sharing. Always a winner with Fabspeed!!!
Thank you! We do what we can :)
Who is NOT a Porsche guy? Never heard that in my life. F’ing blissssss
The Boxster is under appreciated in terms of the way the driver hears the engine better than Cayman.
I think this is a very good solution for those that need to keep the OPFs in place (i.e. not North America)

Do you think it’s too loud/noisy for a daily drive or it’s ok?
Is this really street legal in EU (Germany)?
Sounds grrrrrrreat!
Sounds like a 997.2 GT3 wow

@@gaycha6589 failure to red alert. I said that already.
Quickest way to void your Porsche warranty

718 Boxster GTS*
Negative. You can see Spyder on the side of the tonneau covers.
