Linnea - My wife and I can't even describe to you how happy we are that you made it to Gutted. We have been watching your channel for many months now as we started our own ProMaster build earlier this summer.I know just how frustrating endless automotive troubles can be while on the road and you are a true inspiration for always ending your day with a smile on your face (even if it may be after a good cry). We were hoping to make it to Gutted ourselves but unfortunately some work schedules got in the way as we have been making plans to "finally" move out of state and hitting the road this Saturday. If you happen to still be around Colorado after Gutted we truly hope our paths may cross - sidenote, your precious Akela reminds us dearly of our own White German Shephard rescue (Monty) that we lost just last year. So sorry for the longer comment but we simply had to say, please keep strong during those setbacks and know that there are many, many of us behind the sidelines that are cheering for you each and every day :) David & Dalene
I saw this video after watching Jarrods discussion about Gutted and found you that way and then started at your feed from the beginning of your build. I made it through the spray foam episode and laughed so hard. You are really inspiring. I love your confidence. Your mom made me lol. Really great feed. Thanks for sharing all of this. I’ll get back into your build tomorrow, it’s so informative. All the best. 🙏🏻
Oh man we feel so bad for all the heartache your van has been causing you! We’ve sat at a dealership all day once or twice! We (Dave, Carrie and Roodle the Labradoodle) are attending TheGuttedEvent and really hope we get a chance to meet you! I (Carrie) just found your channel a few months ago and love your style! Happy Building #vanteam
The dynamic you have with your family is so nurturing and loving. It's such a beautiful sight to see. I'm excited to see the competition. Good luck! Thank you for sharing your life and story with us.
You have such a warrior spirit and a definitely a I'm not giving up attitude. You have such a loving family. It's been an absolute pleasure watching you and how you've handled adversity with the van challenges. Thank you for being such a kind and loving human being. Dan D!
All though I'm much to old to start van living , I just saw one of your vlogs on Friday. Out of all the van life series, yours is by far the best !!! I have binged all of them over the weekend. I love how you take us on all your journeys (good & bad) at locations and with your family. I wish you and your family the best and will continue watching. Good luck on the competition.
The beautiful woodburning you were working on in your van was not lost on me, as I've literally taken thousands of photographs of this area, a place SO incredibly special to me. I've soaked my weary bones in the hot springs you visited, spent countless hours at Silver Creek photographing moose, elk, sandhill cranes, and, well... any critter, as well as capturing some beautiful sunlit backcasts. And yes, the Stanley Baking Company is a must! We are nearing my most fave time of the year for the area. The golden-red colors will soon dot the mountains and the brisk mornings have already begun, as it was below freezing there this morning. I think you would agree this really is a special place. :-) I'm sorry that Togo is still giving you fits. Hopefully, they've got a handle on it and you can spend more time doing what you and your loving Akela are meant to do. (small world, I live in Twin Falls... I can't recall if the mechanic helped or hindered) I've watched your build series more than once and the amount of time you put into detail is very inspiring. You should be (and probably are) very proud of yourself! Oh, and your discovery of the Kreg Jig, Riv-Nut, and the way you used the grommets for wiring made me feel warm and fuzzy inside. LOL (btw, have you applied for a patent on that split conduit wiring rig? THAT was genius!) (If I could, I'd do van conversions and find more joy in it than imaginable!) You are a very inspiring young woman and your moxie is off the scale! Please give Akela a few extra loves and YOU just keep on keeping on!! (Sorry for the extendo post) Be safe and enjoy your travels, Mark PS: I think your Mom is a Hoot! :-)
Your channel has grown so much! You are an inspiration to so many, and for older folks like me, especially those that wish we could have lived a life free like you, our free spirits get to go on your journey thru your videos. Thank you for wanting to share your life and experiences. I’m sure it’s not the easiest thing to do. Give Akela an extra hug. Love you both! 💕
It’s so cool that you and your brothers have all the tools and skills to quickly help your mom out so she can join you at gutted ! If gutted gets you excited about van conversions , we would love to have you convert ours !! seriously , we would bring it to your home !! Your patience w/ your van is very admirable . It will be nice when it is totally repaired for good !
Been binging your channel for a couple of days. Thank you for keeping me company. You are a beautiful soul. I'm so inspired, and enjoying the adventures the two of you go on. 🧘♀️🙏😊💜 xoxo
First of all, your mother is quite the hoot!!! Second off I know you got a bit emotional and probably even more off camera but I am really impressed with your ability to keep your shit together! Third off I love how raw your videos are! This is the real deal… edited down a bit in the best way for it to flow but you definitely have a cool video style! Lastly, thanks for making this, thanks for the smiles, enjoy yourself, and WIN gutted!
Thank you Linnea for another beautiful video. I hope the transmission is truly trouble free now on. The wood burning panel looks awesome. Safe travels.
Awww, girl. I really felt your pain and worry there about Togo for a minute. So grateful for you that you were able to get moving again and I'm sending good, strong vibes for a good amount of time with no issues!!! Your fam is just the cutest! Love your mom and her cute little pants to pieces!! Hehe Enjoy the competition!! Cannot wait to watch! 💜💜💜✌💜💜💜
I think it's so cool how you have done your van all by yourself very little help I think that it is so neat because I am an older lady who can't do those things anymore but you just keep it up I am so glad to see everything happening keep the videos coming
Van issues are THE WORST!! I had a van that was constantly leaving me on the side of the road. It’s SO FRUSTRATING!! I’ve dealers are generally the least accommodating, so it’s great that the dealership you visited was able to get you in the shop.
Good luck at Gutted! If I wasn’t going to Sheridan for, “Born in a Barn” I would be going to Gutted! I am waiting for my Ram Promaster build to finish.. The builders, Vanworks in Fort Collins are running about a week or 2 behind.. can’t wait!!
New subscriber here. Have to say you are an amazing young woman. Love your can do/will do spirit. You show your headaches but don’t let them defeat you. Truly a beautiful spirit in you. Best of luck in your travels and gutted. Beautiful companion you have too.
haha I FEEL this. I have a 1988 Chevy an home and boy oh boy is it a maintenance repair waiting to happen. Lol I'm building it out now and learning the mechanics is a huge necessity so that I can continue to travel and live out of the van without getting stuck on the side of the road.
I absolutely love the relationship you and your family share and the fact that you all love "Van-Life". I look forward to the Build Competition series. You Rock...keep on keepin' on
So smiling how you turned this into a happy ending I'm still in my pajamas, now that's living 🤣 You are right and a call to the transmission guy may help. Cool mom. Look at them veggies ❤ Much love from Texas Linnea
I taught myself how to fix nearly everything in all my vehicles even before the internet. I know, from watching all your build videos, your personality, and your tenacity, that you could fix that vehicle yourself. Yes even replacing the parts yourself. I also use skillshare you might want to look and see if they have those kinds of classes. But UA-cam is amazing for learning how to work on your vehicles. Just remember, you are intelligent and capable. You can do whatever mechanic can do if you put your mind to it.
While there's no dip stick on the transmission of the Promaster, it is possible to check it yourself in the future. You can simply use the oil dip stick and insert it into the trans fill port which is about 2ft to the right of the oil dipstick (but hidden down low). It should read right around 1.5" when your transmission fluid is warmed up to operating temps.
Makes me miss my Mom, even more then I do. ❤ (RIP Momma). Enjoy every moment together you guys, you never know what life will hand you next. I love the vibe your family gives off. Great souls to the core!
Good luck to you and your team at Gutted Linnea! I had hoped that the stars would have aligned and make it possible to get out that way this year. I purchased a van from Dave & Matt Vans last year (they're in Gypsum, CO) and covid has really held up my build :( Rooting for you from California girl! Go get er done 💪🏼
What an awesome family , beautiful you all were working together on the bed for Moms vehicle , laughing a joking around so wonderful , there needs to be more families like this . Out of curiosity who taught you the skills you have with tools , making a wonderful bed for mom. turning your own vehicle into a camper . . I am sorry you had issues with your vehicle , Things happen I guess you were not meant to leave when you had planned . you all eat heathy something I should do . so happy to see you and the pup got back on the road that is awesome . Love the video
I am glad that it was something simple to be fixed...I pray that there are no more issues with the van. I can't wait to see the competition series. I know you will do great. I love to see you and your family together, it truly awesome!!
I rewinded back to the same place (4:30) 3 times to try to hear what Noah was saying, but every time you two started to laugh, I laughed too and missed it again and again and again. 😂
Hey it’s Dutch. Most likely you got a relay that has an intermittent problem if you keep having an issue. Change your relays that have to do with your starter. What happens is they get moisture and start to rust there’s a spring in there and it starts to act weird it’ll stick and not work properly. Had the same issue with the fuel line and a Mustang the relay was bad it was under the seat. Just use your owners manual find the relay for the starter that’s all you need. It could beYou’re settling Noyd also could be doing the same thing they were kind of like a relay one just handles a lot more voltage. Wish you the best of luck it was so cool meeting you. You are as awesome as you seem. Nice meeting your mom I probably talk to her too much. Tell her sorry I get started sometimes I can’t stop. Never meant to make you cry sorry about that as well. I love watching your stuff I wish you the best you’ve definitely changed my life forever. Love you guys bye
Linnea I admire your resiliency in dealing with your van. You seem to have such patience. I'm learning from you to roll with the punches rather than being anxious and fearing what might be.
Hi, I'm Wendi and been following your van lives for some time; so I thought it time to subscribe so my sisters and I can accompany your journey where'ere it leads. We live in a tiny country that has its own Prince and is attached to France, but before corona became a pandemic I was a survival instructor at a camp for rowdy teenagers. Now my twin sis and I work in a large official building: my sis as a curator and me as a librarian and general fixer-upper. I love your van life, sorry for the ups and downs, but we all get 'em, don't we? I hope to be an encourager, and one day get back into van-lifing in my converted Defender 110. All the best. ✨
My hope - win lose or draw - is that you met someone at Gutted who knows your model van and is familiar with your issue you've been having and had answers to share with you! 😁 You rock!
Good luck.....and I am so happy for you !!! So glad that it was not the transmission per say and that you are once again on the road and excited for the competition. Also? Thanks so much for a great sahre and video! Love seeing you with family and pups! Sorry your Van issues, but hope its fixed! Safe travels and all the BEST to you! Cheers :)
I love your videos. Hang in there. You'll come away stronger. BTW, I couldn't locate the video again in which you installed your diesel heater, so I haven't been able to check the comments. But please consider locating the exhaust closer to the edge of the side of your van (if not all the way to the edge) facing outward, rather than right up under near the center, which is where I thought(?) I saw it. I don't think any fumes will seep in, but... Heater season isn't all that far away. I just want you to be safe.
