    I have been making music using different things over the years. I am starting to take the iPad music production journey just because of the portability being able to make music anywhere. I never really thought about also using it at my desk in the studio. Its something to think about and might be fun. Thanks. The focus rite is always a go to for sure.

      Now you got me thinking about my set up and how to get a permanent iPad work station combined with my M1 Mac mini, so I can start beats on iPad at desk and then easily pick up and go lol

    Thank you for making this video. Very helpful. However, in case I missed it, how do you connect your scarlet? To the iPad? Will that hub connect and power my scarlet, midi controller and external hard drive?

    What’s that headphone stand that you use? I like that it clamps onto the desk

    I plug my MIDI controller, my headphones, my studio monitors, and my iPad Pro -- all into my Focusrite 8i6. Can you see how I could still be able to connect my computer into that rig? I'd like to be able to fly audio between my iPad and my computer without having to unplug my iPad.

    Does RAM matter to you when considering an IPad AIr or IPad Pro? Are you using an 8gb RAM IPad Pro?

    I like that moveable stand you have it mounted to. I still use a gen 1 iPad Pro and it handles a heavy load of AUv3... has a headphone jack. My workflow is in AUM and kind of a modular approach. AND YES MIDI controller + POWERED USB Hub + headphones a must. Thanks for the video!

      Good to know the gen 1 gets the job done! Glad you like the mount! I attached this ➡️ amzn.to/3ddBb0J to this ➡️ amzn.to/3aiFohY to make it happen. Glad you dug the video! 👍🏽

    Do you have any recommendations for small speakers? I don't need anything crazy, just something small for listening to my beats without headphones for reference, since you get such a different feel from each. I'm actually thinking something more like computer speakers, but not sure I'll get accurate sound from something that small.

    Hey, helpful video and i really appreciate that. I have a few questions. Are you using a 64 gb or 256 gb ipad air? Also, how much space does the daw and other necessary apps take? How much do these apps cost? And if i buy a 64 gb ipad can I take the project files in an external device to manage the space and then copy projects from the drive back in the iPad and start editing? Thank you!!

    First off, I’d like to say that I’ve seen a few Beatmaker videos and in my opinion yours are the best. They are simple to follow and straight to the point. I’d like to thank you for all you’ve done. You’ve helped me immensely. However, you seem to use a lot of equipment that isn’t hardwired. I was told using equipment connected to Bluetooth was not suitable for studio recording. What is your opinion on this matter?

    Hey so if I got a usb midi would I plug it into the usb hub or the audio interface if that’s even a thing. And would you plug in the audio interface into the usb hub?

    • @MusicTechnologist
      @MusicTechnologist  3 роки тому +1

      Hey great question! I think there may be some audio interfaces that have pass-through capabilities as far as usb goes, but most audio interfaces don’t. I would recommend getting a good usb-c hub and plugging both your audio interface and your usb midi device into the hub! 👌🏽

    I like to use the "Scales" function when creating melodies in garage band...(still using my Iphone to create with Crusher Evo headset...) but want to upgrade to a studio created around an Ipad, will getting a MIDI allow me to use the scales function with in garage band DAW? Seems it will.

    If your room isn't properly treated do NOT use a condenser mic. RE20 or SM7b or you'll get good results with a simple sm57 or 58... If your room isn't treated do NOT use a condenser mic. Period. Ever.

    • @MusicTechnologist
      @MusicTechnologist  2 роки тому +6

      You sound goofy to the thousands of people that use condensers successfully in untreated rooms. It’s literally the reason mini-booths and things like the kaotica eyeball exist. You could literally put your head and mic under a heavy blanket and it would do the trick. Saying stuff like “period. ever.” when it comes to something as subjective as vocal recording preference is not helpful.
