Hua Chenyu said, "Actually, each song I sang in Singer 2018 reflects a different mountain in the uphill battle of personal growth." "Qi Tian" => My arrival; you watched this before "Equal to Heaven" "Child" => My growth; "Nunchucks" => My stubbornness; "I Don't Care" => My indifference; "Flammable and Explosive" => The world's conflicting expectations of me, What do you want from me? "Wayfarer"(AKA Mountain & Sea) => My disappointment after opening up to the world; "Fake Monk" => Self-struggle, self-redemption; "Ordinary Path" => Clenching my teeth to face myself; "I Am What I Am" => Finding myself. The last song, after I have scaled to the mountaintop, is "Shout" => surpassing myself. He later rearranged this song to a new song "New World"
This is a genius performance ..this is art, not singing. It is shocking and brilliant, so emotionally powerful and raw. The producers of the show tried to discourage Hua from doing this song, thinking that the 500 member audience (the voters), would not understand/like the performance. But Hua is stubborn when it comes to his music...he had a message to give and he did not care how he ranked. But the audience loved it, and gave him 2nd place for this performance.💗
Thrilled to watch another Hua Chengyu reaction. Excellent. The first time watched this performance, I stopped partway through in shock, felt like invading his private thoughts, uncomfortable. Then I listened to his opening behind scene remarks and it made me understand. Watched again and ended up sobbing. He’s one that can take time to appreciate. I love him!!! ❤ Separate playlist please! This is the concept of the artist, the world of Mars because HuaHua is a different artist, he does not have one musical genre he has several different musical genres and that is why he is UNIQUE. I really suggest you cancel the rating section. Who is qualified to give rates? Who is qualified to evaluate me? My teacher? Someone better than me? I'm really curious, can you sing like Hua Chenyu? Or can you think of any singer who can deliver a performance like his?

I think Hua Chenyu is fabulous! He gets better as he gets older. Check out his sunrise concert from Yantai on 5-4-2024. I want to suggest a South Korean cross-over group for you to listen to: Forestella singing Bad Romance by Lady Gaga ua-cam.com/video/jKg7JdtPPaA/v-deo.htmlsi=RPr_vbvC-7Ni0te- 2 of these singers are classically trained, one came out of musical theater, and the fourth has a natural countertenor voice (I do not know if he has any voice training--he trained as a chemical engineer). This group won the Phantom Singer competition, season 2 in 2017. They are fabulous. Enjoy.
