This is very sad that these young guys will be in jail to death. But at the same time I agree with the judge here. If they did the murder then they got what was deserved. And I hope this sends a message to those guys in Chicago that are killing left and right maybe they will take pause now before they pull that trigger. So I say max them out and make that example.

jaymmira Yes I agree half a century is very harsh indeed. But it seems to me that 25 to life does not have much of an impact on the youth. I guarantee if these lengths become the norm this would curve the murder rate and make these youth think twice. Many of them are out here killing innocent young tax paying citizens so I have no remorse for them. Maybe not Chicago but most other violent places it will help.
