I'm guessing he's a registrar. But that young Paeds trainee genuinely has one of the most fantastic patient manners I've ever seen. You can tell he genuinely cares and is fascinated by his specialty. Can only wish a guy like that all the very best.
The way that first baby crying and breathing 😭 I cried so much... my chest hurts.. please I need to know if that poor precious little one is now doing ok 😩🙏🏼
The baby is actually being weaned off mechanical ventilation and the team is determining if he can tolerate room air. So this is actually a good thing.
My baby went into cardiac arrest and turned blue and lifeless in my arms; she has a heart arrhythmia disorder called svt. We are so lucky to have amazing doctors like these to save innocent lives 💕
@@Jasmine8496 don’t be sorry! She is a happy toddler now :) she was thankfully saved by amazing doctors at the hospital and she is living a normal life and taking medication to control her heart rate now, Merry Christmas to you too 🎄
That was a difficult watch, but unfortunately these things do happen and the people who work there are heroes! They deserve a footballers wage. It's nice to hear that all the babies in this video were/are getting better. If anyone from NHS is reading this comment; you truly are an angel.
I was there with my little girl over the past year and a half - the one they said had a complex congenital heart condition is exactly the same as my baby and everything they were doing I remember with horrifying clarity. I hope those play soecialists realise how important the journals are, I've been pulling ours apart and turning it into a scrapbook and its been such a cathartic thing to go through.
@@elsazere1308 she's doing amazingly! Almost 8 months after her second surgery and she's unrecognisible, she's almost like a normal baby! She has a leaky valve still which may need surgery one day, but for the time being it's not bothering her.
I worked in at a newborn and pediatric intensive care units in a level one regional hospital and even though it was some of my the hardest days working it was also the greatest days too. Knowing that you helped a one pound baby live and leave the unit kept you going through those days where you lost a child or got a child from the ER being so sick or injured you were up all night wondering if they made it through the night. I would love to go to work each day because to me that was the greatest place to work.
I love watching Dr Ranj talk on TV as he comes across as a kind, compassionate man. Seeing this though, it's a shame he spends so much time on TV. He seems a fantastic doctor who really cares for his patients. I think the hospital's loss is media's & the viewers' gain. He really is a lovely man & would make a wonderful father.
Sometimes I wonder how people woke up one day and decide they want to work in this field. Just watching this video made me feel really scared i dont think i can stay calm if this ever happens to my future kids. Really respect all these medical staff and parents are brave too.
The fact that my baby girl is named Evelina and the pediatric care unit is named Evelina makes it even more personal for me to see the babies in the unit.
I love the staff at this hospital!!!! They are so caring and give humor and love to parents who are panicked!!! It is wonderful to see the kids come in so sick and get better!
I came here to watch this after Archie battersbee’s death today. It has brought up for me the time when two of my children were in ICU. My eldest had a gut perforation and sepsis at my local hospital, and he was then taken to St Thomas’s/evelina when he was a tiny 500 g baby (he was very very premature)..I will never forget the Angel of a paediatric bowel surgeon who saved his life. My local hospital had next to no hope for my boy but this hospital are the reason he is a very healthy, ‘normal’ 10 year old today! Sadly my other son died of hypoxic brain injury as a baby, even though he was not preterm, and he died at my local hospital.

It hurts to see a person suffering from illness. Seeing a baby suffering is so much more painful. Hope there are lesser baby require to suffer like this.
That poor baby… if I’m reading the screen right, his Sp02 is 85, and his end tidal co2 is 25… normal is a sp02 of 94-100, and an end tidal co2 of 35-45, if I remember correctly
What I don't understand is why kids are sometimes born with a severe illnesses or issues they might die from. It hurts to see that even though I don't want kids either adopted or my own. I couldn't deal with that especially when they aren't going to live long and having to tell the parents or caregivers or family that there is nothing more the medical team can do and that the child would die or they would think that care should be discontinued or something like that.
I have been to the ICU when i was four,im 11/12 now so i have only a few memmories.I was taken to the emergeny room because my skin was yellow and peachish, when we got there they checked my blood presure and more and finally they looked shocked and took me to the ICU.I have a really bad liver damadge which caused loss of blood which explains the yellow skin.I stayed there for 9 or 10 days before i could go home. I also have G6PD. Can some please explain this to me?
arthantar pujari unfortunately people die, and often in incredible pain. It's a harsh world where help exists but is denied due to money. People in third world countries obviously cop this the most, but it exists even in richer countries. For instance, I live in Australia and have been denied a medicine that could make a massive difference simply because the government believes it's too expensive. Being told your life isn't worth it is soul crushing.
