Great video from you guys. I have been following Alex since 2010.and he has brought a lot of inspiration to keeping the Guitar synth world moving forward. I've owned guitar synths since the early 90's. GR-1 being my first and have had every version since. Alex is correct when he said. these "instruments" open our minds to so much more. And do really inspire us to new Ideas and genres. Thanks again for the opportunity to understand more about the possibilities in the uses and tips the GM- 800 has to offer. Keep em coming ( For all the GR VG GM and SY series units) Cheers!
Great to hear you inspired with another great tool. Your note selection is stunning and the tracking keeps up ! Very powerful instrument for sure. Thanks for sharing your insights on the tunings, I've been highly intrigued with your application of it for a while now, its so awesome. I had a question about the ZEN-Core engine. You had done a quick video on the Roland MC-707 which has the ZEN-Core engine also. Would the GR-55 or SY-1000 trigger the PCM tones in the MC-707 with acceptable results ? I find the compact package with drum tracks and looping an interesting tool for Live or recording integration. A Big Thanks for the great videos and all that you share with us!
Hi there, much better to drive, trigger MIDI with the GM 800, GK5 or converter box with the GK3 as the new serial system is much better for MIDI, cheers Daniel.
Love the new gm800 - I’m trying to get my iPad app to throw the midi commands to pull up scenes, turn on and off parts… basic stuff. I usually don’t have problems with this stuff. Anyone have an example on UA-cam or have tips. I updated the gm to the latest firmware and checked transmitting channels etc. also tried getting quad cortex to send…. This is a random shot in the dark
The GM-800 is synth only - unlike the GK3 the GK5 has no guitar out, so you have to plug a TRS cable into your guitar output and use that with your guitar amp/pedalboard just like a normal electric guitar.
Thank you for the video........but BASS video with GM800 would be appreciated. Nate Navarro did a great one......but it's not enough for me to spend 1800$ canadian on it. Best regards from AmpleSound
Yes, as this is the new generation of our guitar synth processing. GR-55 is still in production as it has built in guitar processing, GM-800 is just ZenCore synthesizer sounds (from our keyboard products)
Time is precious, it would have been a much better video with less talking and ramblings from the guess. I really was expecting Alex to do the video by himself and go deep into this guitar synth and not so much about things not pertaining to the synth... a little disappointed after waiting about a week for this live show.
Tuve que hacer devolución, mala latencia ,me pareció peor que el roland gr 55 Sonidos de alta calidad, pero notas fantasma y lento. Por favor toque a velocidad igual que con boss gx 100 , pac

Disregard - late night error. Works gr8
Alex can you share your patches ? Thanks
Is there a way to combine the Gm-800 with the normal guitar and pedal sound? Does the Gm-800 have any guitar effects?

It’s upside down. Nice picture of the corner part.
For some real world instrument examples of the GM-800 watch my new video here:

DANNY - will it do a 5 string fretless bass?
I've got a Boss SY300, btw
What I really want is to be able to make my Ibanez fretless 5 sound like church bells....
Does anyone out there know how to do this?
Hi Yes! GK-5B is compatible with 5 string basses.
@@DannyUnderwood thankyou Danny....what about the fretless aspect?
Is it better than GR 55 I returned that unit
Yes, as this is the new generation of our guitar synth processing. GR-55 is still in production as it has built in guitar processing, GM-800 is just ZenCore synthesizer sounds (from our keyboard products)
I just want somebody to play the bloddy cello and violin to see if it's better than the GR-55
it IS better!

The host was a laughing goof who didn’t add anything. 🤨
