Anyone who happens to be reading this in the future: You have to let go of the brake before doing PSM. Brake until below 500, LET GO OF BRAKE, then press both brake and throttle and pull back on the stick/aim the nose upward. If it still fails, the speed probably reached above 500 again.
If you want to learn that, I think this video has what you are looking for ua-cam.com/video/RISyK1r8E38/v-deo.html I mean he teaches you how to do those broken backwards, sideways PSMs
Nice video dude. I wish there was a way of seeing a controller on the sreen while you do the PSM chaining and more advanced stuff. It's getting hard to me to learn those by myself. Other than that very useful video, thanks
I'm playing on pc with a controller and my camera doesn't behave the same way yours does. Is there a setting for this? Edit: After further fucking around, it's seems inevitable that I would soon find out. What I was doing wrong was holding the power and brake for too long. I was under the impression that I had to hold it until I saw the pitch change, but that isn't so. It's more like a toggle, so the buttons are clicked simultaneously, let go of, and then it's back to the accelerator. I had tried something similar before but never succeeded. This tutorial now makes more sense.
Thanks for the guide! Are the full PSM (Kulbit capable) planes much more effective or just marginally effective than the cobra-only planes? How useful is a kulbit in dogfight?
Just recently played ac7 in pc with keyboard n mouse. Still working on my psm control and throttle control. Just wanna ask, when doing psm fights in multiplayer, should I pick light blisk or next gen engine?
Most players use Blisk until they're advanced enough to utilize Ailerons, and trust me, it helps advanced players a LOT more than it will someone starting out, so use Blisk, or nothing at all
I've been practicing myself, but I just can't get my X-02S Wyvern to maneuver like that! None of my planes can do it. :( Either the game sucks, or the developers suck because they made it too hard.
What's funny is that this is a guide on how to do it with an outline of how it's done with a controller overlay. I'm sure you can do it with a bit of effort.
@@Nathanx42 To be fair, I'm using a modified X-02S, with Type B controls for high-g maneuvers. I also switched my units of measurement to meters; maybe there's something else I'm doing wrong?

Cipher step 1: hold down gas button Step 2: use high g turns when you need to get behind someone Step 3: if you want to be degenerate and fly braindead planes, use SASM or QAAM
Another tip you don't have to take your finger off the throttle while PS Emming you just have to take off the left trigger and push the left trigger to engage while holding the right you can also use the left trigger while holding the throttle while mpsm to control your speed 2 continuous PSM
That's not a PSM. F-14 cannot post stall in AC7. You can hammerhead, also known as a rudder stall turn but that's different. Same goes for prop hang gravity stalls.
Yeah, apparently the only nato planes that can psm are the raptor and f-35 aka the end game crutch planes, while supposedly all the soviet planes can do it.
So regarding psm throttle control you just have to keep the plane within the psm speed range? (is it alright if I keep accelerating like you did?). Nice video by the way.
All you have to do is just keep it in the range. Once your first PSM wears off you can just keep chaining it over and over with the correct inputs. (Both Throttle and Brake, left stick down)
I have spent like 2 days watching various videos on how to chain psm and it never works for me , either the plane stalls during psm or it just escapes psm , can’t seems to find the balance. My speed literally changes from 450-200-500+ within seconds . Should I remove the acceleration parts ? Is that gonna help me ... I’m about to start crying now 😭
ive found without PSM, I get outmaneuvered in every single dog fight i get into. PSM is about the only way to stay competitive. I typically play 2000 or 2500 limits, and when i see and su-33 with a railgun or a Mig with gun pods i know theyre about to clean house. you simply can not get advantage on them and for what ever reason it seems the better pilots play on the limited matches.

Just use soviet/russian aircraft for cobras
Using kulbit capable ones can let you stay behind someone like sol squadron or mihaly are useful, but cobras take a bit more effort
But the Most Difficult PSM to do is the Negative G PSM and yes it can be done you just got to know how to do it
For the people on need, for me it helps to decelerate nose down then very quickly nose up and psm
How the fuck do you do it in literally looking at a step by step guide
