What's the ochre/yellow coloured paste that you brush onto the neck? I noticed that you also pasted some of this onto the hen wood duck before sewing her up. Is it a glue? Thanks. Great videos! I've learned so much 👍🏻
One baby owl that I’m currently working on. So it will be a while before that gets to be edited and published here. Because I rarely use real skulls , if I do, I’ll make sure to make a video out of it.
@@ArtofTaxidermy thanks Ben , I’ve got a contact who has got about 15 exotic parrots in the freezer ranging from eclectus, Sunconure, alexandrine, moustache, king, maroon bellied, olive Indian ring neck, male plumb head, caique parrot, blue throat conure, and black capped conure.he wants $300 for the lot he has stored them in zip lock bags in the freezer. He’s sent through some photos, they look in quite good condition. I have also got a couple of fancy pigeons that I am going to experiment on first. Is there any way I could forward you some photos? To get your thoughts on the condition?
Hi Ben! Just curious why on this bird you didn't remove the skin from the skull like you do on other birds? How did you clean out the skull with the skin still attached?
Hey Jack… the clear tape is just a regular packing wrap cut in tape size. The white material is called batting (used as liner in making jackets and coats , you can buy them from your fabric stores) cheers.
Love the videos

Thanks for watching.
Nice job on the eyes!
Thanks.
Great video! In your opinion, what is the benefit of wiring the wings in place vs pinning them as some other taxidermists do?
You need to wire your wings and body parts so it gives you full articulation and natural movements.

It’s a moisturizer cream. To keep the skin moist longer. You can also use the acrylic latex too.
@@ArtofTaxidermy thanks..wow there's always something new I learn from your videos. Keep up this amazing work you do.
@@andystott9826 Thanks.
Hi Ben have you got footage of skinning and cleaning utilising the original scull for parrots or any other birds.

Whats the clear tape you wrap the wing/leg bones, is it sticky tape?
Also the white foam you use to wrap.. did you make this or buy it?
Thank you

What can you use to clean the skull before doing this?
Scalpel, tweezers, cotton, QTips and a lot of patience.
