    Beautiful job!!! Love that gun. Looks like the hood repair was in the middle toward the top. I hate working a bunch of Bondo on a hood.

      Thank you! Axalta spies hecker and Cromax were made to do in 1 1/2 coat like that. I wouldn’t do it with any other system. But it takes production to the next level. Booth cycles are so much faster with this system. It’s great paint too.

    Nice video! I use a DV1 with Sherwin Williams 9k. They have a wet on wet application option followed by a drop coat. I like the Dv1 with a 1.3 I feel like u can dump it on pretty good lol But after 7 or 8 months every day all day it's leaking air like crazy. My 5500 and other Sata's feel like the sturdier gun.

    • @everyday_painter

      Check your seals. Something could be broke. DV1 is a great gun. But yes, I agree 5500 is much sturdier. Which is why it is more expensive.

    Great job pal, that booth looks very long or is it the camera ?

    • @everyday_painter

      It is long. It’s a bit over 30 foot. I love it. It’s nice being able to paint a car in pieces in one booth load. We have another booth that is regular length as well.

    Thanks I’ve been thinking of getting that gun but true Satas nozzles seem to be bigger than they really are. How much of base did you mix up for that job ?that was cutting it close lol but that’s smart to save the jam for last in case you had to whip up some more

    • @everyday_painter

      I mixed 30 ounces for this job. Definitely close at the end there. Haha. I feel like data’s are about 1 size bigger than other guns. I run a 1.2 nozzle in my base gun and a 1.3 in my clear. I like a little bigger for clear. Pound it on 👍🏻

      @second-guess always we try to do 2 oz per hour. I agree on a lot of jobs it’s impossible. This job I actually hit under 2 per hour. This job had 18 paint hours on it. Used 30 ounces. 👍🏻

    Friend... I think you are the best painter on UA-cam.... Great job and the 480 series maybe the best painting system... Please tell me which gun do you find better? Dv1 or 5500?Regards from Greece...

      Thank you! I really appreciate that! Personally I like the 5500 for basecoat. Will definitely use the dv1 again and would occasionally use it if I owned it for myself. But I love the way my 5500 lays basecoat. Great on material nice fan pattern everything. Sata makes great guns

      We use the 480 series at my work too and I love it .The only thing is we need better airflow in the booth to help flash that water out and lately I’ve been having “splashing” issues.They look like pinholes that only show up after clearing .Usually clear buries them and our paint rep can’t seem to give us an explanation why it happens?

    • @everyday_painter

      @vasilis karadimos devilbiss pro lite is a great gun. I haven’t used mine in forever but I have got plenty of use out of it over the years. Mine has the TE20 cap. Try the 5500 if you can get your hands on one. I think you will love it. Thank you for the support. I really appreciate it!

      @eviljoker303 we just moved shops a few months ago and don’t have heat hooked up yet. I have been struggling with my waterbase drying. Been getting cold here the last month. I’ve been using a hair dryer on some jobs to try to hurry the process. Activating all solid jobs as well. It’s a struggle for now. Especially in the mornings. As for splashing I as well have an issue from time to time. For me it’s only on solid whites though. Like you said, can’t see it until clear. My rep said try going lighter and do 2 coats letting the first one flash off before applying the second. That works sometimes for me.

    Dude I spray Axalta hi tec
    How are your pearls as far as being too white? Any tips or tricks for me
    I just started spraying it 4 weeks ago
    Came from ppg wTer

    • @everyday_painter
      @everyday_painter  Рік тому +1

      Some pearls are definitely a bit too white when sprayed. One thing I like it do is take a picture of the car as a solid color. I usually sand the panel a first then take a picture of the sanded area as a solid. But can be done without. Then use that picture as your ground coat. For the mid coat find a chip with matching pearl and use that mid coat over your ground. Usually works pretty well. I will do a video of this soon. Thanks for watching!

      @@everyday_painter thanks for the reply
      I figured out a really good solution
      On Most of my pearls I start off with -20%of 321 on ur base coat and minus half of 386 on ur pearl coat
      Been hitting em almost dead on man
      Try that and let me know what you think
      It has been working extremely well for me so far on 6/6 pearls I have done this past 1.5 week

    What psi did you spray the dv1 at? I bought one and love it but still wondering what the correct psi is. I was told to spray the dv1 at 14 psi. Sometimes it’s fine but sometimes it doesn’t completely cover

    • @everyday_painter
      @everyday_painter  2 роки тому +1

      I sprayed this job at 22psi. 14 is pretty low. This gun doesn’t need a lot of pressure but I would bump it up some if I were you. Try 20 and see how you like it. I haven’t sprayed this gun much so I don’t really have a sweet spot with it. With my Sata I spray base at 25 always. Every gun is different. Also everyone is different. If your having trouble with coverage also try to tighten your overlap maybe. Or even slow down a bit. That may help.

    • @Tyler.56
      @Tyler.56 2 роки тому

      @@everyday_painter yea 14 is low. I’m gonna try 20 psi. Tomorrow. I have also been using the 1.3 in the dv1. Most of the time I don’t have any issues. But I’ve notice recently that 14-15 psi is just to low
