My husband left a can of coke in his backpack, then both our packs were put in a garbage bag and stored in our storage unit in Paradise CA when the 2018 Camp Fire came through and destroyed the town. Our metal storage unit survived, but that coke can exploded in the bag and by the time they let us come back into town, it had molded all over both our packs..... Fortunately we were able to clean them and still use them today!

I learned the hard way to never store things like bug repellant and hand sanitizer in a container with anything else, every container leaks eventually and bug repellent will liquefy some water repellant coatings and even some plastics. Anything that has liquid or can become liquid in warm weather should be stored in a container separate from other camping gear or at the very least put into a Tupperware container with everything else so if/when they do leak it's minimized.

I recently starting using a shammy for tent condensation. Dry it, pack it on site, and leave it. Love it!

My insane OCD won’t allow me to sit down until it’s all done. Even car camping or traveling. I have to put it all away wash the clothing etc before I can sit down. And I don’t mind it. 🎉

The factory has palettes of sleeping bags stored in warehouses for unknown amount time before going to the stores warehouses . The the store warehouses then send a certain amount to each store where they sit in the store until they are sold. The myth of sleeping bags being lofted and uncompressed when stored is bull hockey. They only need shaking out before use.

I live in Italy. Have you been here? Every home and hotel bathroom has a bidet. You would love it.

Can I ask about that hydration system/straw? I purchased something that looks similar (from Kickstarter) that is supposed to fit Nalgene, but it only fits my stainless bottles that are way too heavy for hiking.

Question: How to go about cleaning tent? Cleaning the sleeping bag or pad? Any suggestions? Like a wipe, a light spray and wipe down, lysol, ect? Also thank you for this video! This is great motivation! I plan to watch it again as I'm unloading after my trip👍🙆‍♀️

Useful info as always. I have a question. Do you back flush your water filter and dry it before you put it away?

Loaned a tent to a buddy and he had to put it away slightly damp and never communicated that. After 9 months I found it to be a little mildewy but it cleaned up pretty well and seemed mostly fine... until you pulled on anything elastic at which point it tore like tissue paper.

    The Pride&Prejudice bit. 💀
Could you go over how to care/clean boots? Especially if hiking in different locations across the country/world. (Weirdly paranoid that I'll be "that person" who introduces an invasive species.)
