Bro, thank you. this helps alot for my english test. no one else seemed to have read this, and I can't focus enough to actually read it myself, so THANK YOU
When this was first posted a little over a year ago I thought that it was going to be another great bedtime story, but let alone did I know that with the way Geoff made this narration he made it into something that has manage to do what not much else has accomplished: to make all the noise in my head vanish, and leave me with a clear and relaxed mind. For as long as I can remember my head seems to have taking in too much of the sounds around me and thereby filling up my head and quickly exhaust me whenever I'm in noisy surroundings like social gatherings. This has caused me to dread a lot of things where I know there is going to be a lot of people and sometimes even stay away from situations like this, because I knew how tired my mind would be by the end of it all. With this narration as part of my life the situation is quite different. If I listen to this before having to be around people, it can calm my mind and make me less tense and more relaxed, because less noise seems to get stuck in my head from my surroundings; and if I have not been able to listen beforehand then I can turn just it on afterwards and thereby making it easier to overcome the mental fatigue from the noise that has build up in my head. Thank you, Geoff, for making me be able to come out of my shell. I will properly never be the most social person at a party, but this video ensures that I do not have to spend a whole day or more on getting over the mental fatigue of being around other people. This makes me not just wish to be around people, but actually willing and capable to. I am immensely grateful for this somewhat frozen gem of a video. This truly is a gamechanger, and I thank you wholeheartedly for it 💖
This is a different side of Geoff. Yes he sings great songs but I didn't think he would narrate like this. Very good too. I never heard of this story before though.
Goodness, Geoff, I didn't know there is enough time in a month to do all you do for your solo work, VoicePlay and family. I love these narrations when you find time. Very relaxing (not boring).
A beautiful narrative. It is such a sad story. A woman's expectation from marriage, two people from different worlds. The result: disappointment, despair, guilt... The young man lives in the present, he doesn't care about the future. He wouldn't be able to make her happy either. John's death makes the story more tragic.
Such an unconfortable, bleak and cold winter story, with a twist - wonderfully narrated! Geoff, you manage to make your voice sound terrifying and lulling and comforting at the same time - I love it! ❤ You slightly modulate your voice to represent the different characters and the narrator, I like that it's so subtle. I would also like to emphasize that your pronunciation is also very pleasant for non-Americans. Thank you Geoff and thank you Paul Kaleka for the audio mix -> it's sexy indeed 😍
One of my favorite narrations to just sit and listen to. Whatever Paul did with the audio, it sounds like Geoff is right in the room with me. Beautiful reading.
1st time ive ever listened to you reading and it def wont be the last! It was amazing you take the listener to the heart of the story then stand beside them leading them as the story unfolds ypu have an amazing singing voice and an even more amazing reading voice a man of many facets and talents least of all that you can bring the characters of the story to life brilliant !
SPOILER ALERT! That twist at the end sure makes you think, doesn't it? It's been on my mind since I first listened to it. Here's my take on it: She really saw John when she half woke up. He made it home, saw them, then went back out into the blizzard and walked until he couldn't anymore. Maybe it was just sheer despair, but maybe he also did it out of compassion for her. If he didn't realize she was awake, he might have wanted to spare her the guilt she would feel if she knew he'd seen them. But because he touched the wet paint she knows anyway, and now she's going to have to live with that knowledge and with her guilt over his death. Or he never made it home at all and she saw his ghost or just a hallucination. And the paint either got there by metaphysical means or his dad just happened to be doing some painting that day too. Personally, I think the first option is the better story, even though (or maybe because) it's so tragic.
I love your voice so much, you have a very relaxing voice and when you’re singing, it just brings everything together perfectly. Literally so much talent. ❤❤❤
@@margaretmclennan5169 after 42years,we have learned to get along.we just do what we like individually. He has softened up some and will do somethings with me or for me
It’s very pleasant to listen to. Your voice is not only captivating and comforting but also uplifting. Thank you for sharing this story. Please read more narration.
A wonderfully bleak and twisting story beautifully narrated. Thank you Geoff, your voice creates equal amounts of spooky and soothing, I so enjoy listening to it, and 👍to Paul, he really did make it sound more sexy! 😱😌💜
I adored your reading of “The Painted Door”. This must be somewhat new to you because you seemed a bit more tense than your usual laid back and wonderful singing. I loved it, I hope you do more readings. Thanks.
Wow I’ve been listening to your music for awhile and I’ve just recently been assigned this story to read in school. I was just looking for a audiobook because it’s a long story and I found this one that was only posted 2 weeks ago. I didn’t even realize who’s video this was.
Today, my mother introduced me to your videos. I was tired and loved your voice. I nearly fell asleep to The Little Mermaid. Your voice kept me in a slow state of sameness. Thank you.
Geoff, I watched part of your interview with Liz Zharoff (The Charismatic Voice) and saw that someone had commented this on the thread you started: "Have you considered doing any barbershop arrangements with, say, Dr. Jim Henry (bass from Crossroads/Gas House Gang) or Tim Waurick?" (Tim's the tenor from Vocal Spectrum- he's got his own channel) This commenter said he was brought to Voiceplay from the Vocal Spectrum recording of "Go The Distance" (one of the songs Tim has on his channel- uploaded, I think, in March) and said you (Voiceplay) had recorded it too. Just like you can reach low notes very easily, Tim can reach high ones. One of his most incredible notes is a tenor A flat 5 at the end of Go The Distance, which he manages to hold out for about 35 seconds! If you ever ended up performing in the barbershop style, here's a possible lineup: Dr. Henry as bass, you as baritone (would have you as bass, but a) Dr. Henry is a bass already, as I said above, and b) I've heard that you don't even think of yourself as a bass anyway) with Tim as tenor and lead yet to be determined.
Hey Geoff! I currently sing bass in a few different a cappella groups. I was wondering if there are any tips that you could give me about tonality, placement of sound, and mouth shape for when I have to imitate the sounds of a bass guitar. Hopefully you can help. I hope you have a good day!
Geoff, no matter what i wrote to you in other your video, i just wanted to thank you. After i've lost my parents i've lost myself and point to life, every day i was waiting for my death... you brought me back to life... thank you ❤ after almost 5 years i feel something warm and positive in me. I like being in love with you, that feeling brings a joy to life... thank you so much! Now i really want to live ❤...maybe someday you'll read this... hope so... thank you, my unattainable love ☺ please, take care ❤

I love his voice he is just hypnotic
Man's voice feels like it could... Melt butter...
This is a different side of Geoff. Yes he sings great songs but I didn't think he would narrate like this. Very good too. I never heard of this story before though.
Picture this. Warm blankets. Fireplace. This warm resonant voice in your ears.
Ahhh. That’s good.
A bleak, claustrophobic winter tale with a slow build of tension and dread right up to its twist ending. I love it ❤ Wonderfully read, Geoff.

Such a wonderful narration! A perfect tale to listen to as I sit by the fire on a cold (-5F) day with piles of snow outside here in MN.
Geoff's voice gives me dream=sleeping next to camp fire while listening story what Geoff is telling with deep magical voice
One of my favorite narrations to just sit and listen to. Whatever Paul did with the audio, it sounds like Geoff is right in the room with me. Beautiful reading.

Your narration not only added to this grippingly tense story, it made it riveting.
This story is so cold and sad, and somehow you still make me want to listen to it as I fall asleep. Guess I’ll need to grab an extra blanket.
I listened to this while driving across the country last week. Spectacular job, Geoff. That was the shortest hour of my whole drive!
Idealnie. Wieczorem słuchawki i ten piękny głoś. ☺

First option for me too
This is my favorite narration of yours, and I can't even explain why.
Just what I needed, another story to put me to sleep narrated by Geoff Castellucci 😌😴💤

Perfect thing to listen too on a day with a 50 below wind-chill.

A wonderfully bleak and twisting story beautifully narrated. Thank you Geoff, your voice creates equal amounts of spooky and soothing, I so enjoy listening to it, and 👍to Paul, he really did make it sound more sexy! 😱😌💜
This is amazing, Geoff. I would love it if you narrated Stephen King's Christine sometime.

hypnotic - can Geoff read all my books for me?
