Code: LK5PRO$20OFF (-$20)
For the longest time I pushed off the idea of owning a 3D printer as I thought they were just for printing out cool looking paper weights. After experiencing this Longer LK5 PRO my mind has been changed as these machines are more capable of many things I had no clue they could do. articulating parts, gears, instruments, fixes around the house, you are only limited by your own imagination. Now that I have one my imagination is running wild.

It’s Awesome to have cool tools, especially the ones that are money makers. Love your channel, videos are easy to follow and I like that you reply to your subscribers no matter how busy you are,ppl really appreciate that.
Thank you for the kind words. I love getting to chat with everyone in the comments it’s the community that makes it worthwhile for me.
Welcome to the 3D printing club! As for printing ABS, you really need an enclosure or a very warm environment so that the edges don't cool too quickly and warp. I'd also highly recommend getting a PEI sheet, makes getting prints off the bed so much easier.
Awesome thank you so much for the tips Tom I am really excited to learn more and dive deeper into the 3D printing world.
@@ChadsCustomCreations Chad, did you ever get a PEI sheet?
I hadn't quite yet.
Really liked this video. Looking to get 3d printer and this is gonna help me make the right choice. Thanks again and have fun.
Thank you for sharing that hearing that these silly videos helped someone gives me a ton of encouragement
Very friendly and family nice video and thank you for sharing.
My pleasure thank you for watching!
LOVE the knife!!
Thank you me too.
Love it dude! How rigid is the plastic? Like if you made a zip wheel would it fly apart? I know it wouldn't be used for cutting or nothing but curious of the rigidity. All the items are cool and I could see it making a lot of things. Just curious really about the strength.
Thank you. It's pretty neat definitely feels like I've leveled up adding this thing to my tool belt.
Thank you for making this video! It was exactly the info I needed (with a little humor) to get started :) Quick question about the materials you were using and the difference between them. Does one print smoother or is easier to sand when done?
I am still learning the materials but that $20 matter hacker filament was printing like a dream. I bought the ABS for its temperature resistance if I was to make plastic pieces that would go into my truck during the summer time, but I am realizing there is a lot of hate for ABS and I should have tried PETG instead. I'll do more videos on my findings as i continue to learn and grow on the subject of 3D printing but I am hearing a lot of people are really impressed by the print quality I am achieving with the machine.
I'm still working on getting my PLA machine to work efficiently with PETG but it must be my room temps. ABS is super finicky temp dependent, my Makerbot Replicator 2x has an enclosure and prints ABS great. Another great informational video Chad. 👊🏻👊🏻
That's good to hear that your having success with ABS I want to use it for parts that would go in the cab of my truck and survive out super hot summers here in GA. I'll have to maybe try an Enclosure, and maybe the blue tape and glue on the build plate aswell.
This might be because I am a woman. I was thinking of using pam or flour 😁 -Nikki
Haha I didn't explain it well enough, but the actual issue is it not sticking well enough during the print.
@@ChadsCustomCreations oh lol, maybe you did explain it. I just have selective hearing and normally don't listen to guys 😅.
I have the same printer (since a couple of weeks) and I recommend Strong PLA or PLA+ in stead of ABS. It's very similar to ABS but prints like PLA.
I don't need a 3D printer. I don't need a 3D printer... But now I kind of want one!
a ender 3 is only 200 bucks... if you have the extra money for a new hobby.... give it a try
whoa. amazing
Right this technology is crazy 🤪
Thanks for the video. Any chance you could share the 3d model file long tray you built? I'd love to build one long one for mine. Only found the shorter ones so far.
Thanks for watching I believe this is the one. www.thingiverse.com/thing:5179927
@@ChadsCustomCreations really appreciate it. Also just getting into 3D printing and have the longer Lk5 pro. My son loved the huge Kirby we printed and painted!
@@GateFather same here I am really loving it and I feel like the longer lk5 pro is a perfect printer to start up with. I hear of all the veterans talking about how much work have have to do to their machines and that has not been my experience at all.
Hey for that tray if I remember correctly I had to do something to make it fit the bed on cura I think it was as simple as removing the skirt or something under settings.
@@ChadsCustomCreations got it - that works. An entire day! That is my only issue with 3D printing, I'm inpatient haha!
Cool printer.
Thanks Keith!
You have any videos for home projects, I’m looking to cut/engrave acrylic but not break the bank. I didn’t see any on your channel!
me too
My son had the ended 3. He says these are the reasons not to buy a 3D printer: The extruder died within a year, the nozzles have to be replaced almost every time you use the thing. What are your thoughts?
Yeah those ender prices are crazy low I think for someone willing to work on them and tune them up they are great but for someone like me just wanting a machine that is ready to print the LK5 pro was a good fit for me.
I love my 3d printer I have the same model, having a Lil problem with leveling the center but I just use the corners to print, but for abs or petg try to wipe the bed with rubbing alcohol and a glue stick.
I have noticed the same with min the middle definitely needs some kind of height adjustment aswell. Thank you for the tips on the abs and petg
My printer suffers from this as well. When I used the other side, the problem was reversed. So it seems the glass plate is warped.
@@jantuijp it’s kind of hard to do but I try to level it out equally and have the middle be my paper friction point. Though I am assuming the warping could be worse on other machines. I wonder how hard it would be to ad an auto leveler some software can make up for uneven build plates in the coding.
@@ChadsCustomCreations I already did that and for a while that seemed fine UNTIL I printed a larger object (a glasses case). The two halves won't close well, because (naturally) they follow the arc of the bed. I'm not sure an auto leveler can make up for that. For me it's not that big of a problem, since the heatbed itself seems fine and I already ordered a PEI plate (which I was going to anyway).
Oh I totally see that. Can you share the link to the plate that you ordered I would love to give that a try also.
Hey Chad, I already bought this Longer LK5 Pro and love it but, I don't know how to 3D cad. I bought it because I need it to make another hobby that I need it for and well, my son is an expert but is away at the Airforce and he came and did witches boots for my dolls that I would be needing. I am doing witches dolls and needs so many different things that I need to design myself and print on the 3D Printer. Fantastic huhh? but I don't know how to cad :( . Where can I go and learn how to design a cat, witches hands, broom, and so on. The possibilities, I know they can be great but I just don't know where to go. Everything that I search is just how to put it together. It's already together but how do I print. I already have the FreeCAD19 on it and am able to get there but I don't know how to make my own. Please help. Ame Pequitas
Yes the true challenge is in the designing I will recommend tinkercad for getting started export as an STL file to your slicer program then you are good to print. After you build your confidence maybe look into Blender, matter control, or I am currently trying out shapr3d on my iPad. All of these are great options for getting started with the 3d designs.
What kind of deals for materials are you finding?
I got my filiament from matterhackers cause I knew it would be good quality stuff and it was and made for some really great prints. I will continue to use them.
Im hooked too, just this past week, but my elegoo neptune crapped out after a week, so now im looking everyone keeps telling me to get the ender pro
It’s so much fun, what a time to be alive. Thanks for watching sorry this reply took so long.
Are you still recommending the XTool D1? I wanted to make sure I buy the best one!!
Xtool for a beginner is still my top recommendation
@@ChadsCustomCreations What is the difference between the D1 and M1?
@@mariewood8267 M1 is an enclosed machine that also has a vinyl cutting blade feature. In my opinion the D1 is a better tool cause it is specific to just being a laser. If you want to do vinyl cutting I would get a separate machine for that as they are pretty affordable.
@@ChadsCustomCreations Ok, so use my cricut to cut out the vinyl first. Have you used the D1 on vinyl? Another user expressed a fire hazard concern when using the xTool on this type of material.
@@mariewood8267 Sadly using laser for cutting vinyl produces chlorine gasses it is not safe at all. I don't recommend.
Really like
Thank you!
Might want to try ASA as an alternative to ABS.
Awesome thank you, also heard good things about petg
TinkerCAD for the win huh? I should give it a try
Free and simple definitely a good place for someone to start.
@@ChadsCustomCreations I'm a pretty big sketchup nerd. I hope it doesn't mess me up
name for the utility knife so i can print it next after my cough freedom lower cough cough
I can’t remember the name but it was on thingiverse
@@ChadsCustomCreations ok thanks!!! Maybe if you have the file still you can let me know hahahahahaha, I’m looking for it right now, thanks for the response!!!
every time i use my 3d printer i think of it les of a toy and more of a tool
That is great, and that is my goal as well. I know there is a lot of people who under estimate the power of what can be accomplished with them.
@@ChadsCustomCreations most people think its about printing fun stuff like tiny pokemon statues and stuff, but if you start building functional stuff youl realize annything is possible
Are you still happy with this 3D printer?
I do still like my LK5 pro I think it does cost more than say an ender but from what I understand paying a little more is worth not having all of the headaches.
boys and their toys. Sigh! Exactly how useful is ANY of this stuff. Its a solution looking for a problem. At least in the hobby market. The ones that pour concrete and build houses - great but at a couple of hundred thousand dollars?? Nope.
Yea, because those are comparable ends of the printing spectrum.
