Loved the video. Was wondering if you are able to cleanly cut out letters and numbers our of wood, plastic or metal instead of just engraving or chiseling into the material? I am looking for something that will do both.
Great video, very informative and easy to listen to. I’ll be purchasing one soon to replace my old one. Can you design and create the g-code just with v-carve? Is there a post processor to download? Thanks a bunch🙂

Need more research but I was told the Z travel is only one lineal rod with only two bearings (one on top and one on the bottom) true??? Thanks
I'm not sure on the axiom check out the description and look at the i2r.com machines I'll look and comment so I don't tell you wrong I cant remember if it's 1 or 2 linear rails on my i2r-8. There's also a code JPAYNE10 that is you use that at i2r.com on the i2r-8 it will save you $200 on the machine.
Hello, I enjoyed your video. I have to say that after a lot of research I decided on an Axiom Iconic 6. What I didn't know was that there are different people in the US selling Axiom CNC machines. I went with Axiom Precision sadly. I would have much rather had an Axiom that connected to my computer!! Why are there different Axiom machines in the US? I feel cheated!

im curious, the individual layers of the plywood you use seem to be really thick. Ive never come across this before. What is it called, i cannot seem to find it online anywhere

I am seriously considering ordering the I2R8 soon. When looking at the dimensions of the machine it states its only 28 inches tall. This seems pretty low. Is this an issue at all? Seems like you would be bending over a lot . Thanks

I very recently found out from one of the techs a i2R (Sonny) that this machine is a direct relative of the Iconic CNC, by Axiom. Both units are made in the SAME building, with the only differences being the color of the gantry support covers (iR2's is black, whereas the Axiom's is red). Additionally, the Axiom utilizes a hand-held controller, and the i2R's feature the computer based UCCNC controller. @@paulusandronicus

I wish it had more Z clearance
It has I believe 5 inches of z movement and more clearance can be achieved by swapping out the wast boards to a thinner set.

It's all done in v carve and you open the toolpath in uccnc it's extremely simple

Axiom has and mdoes offer a module called i2r but thithe machine I have is a separate company that does work along side axiom

Ibeilve that is for just the bed and spindle as the frame is and option you have to chose to get with the frame it's no problem at all
