Every time I hear this song it takes me back to when I had just graduated from high school and had moved to Colorado with my sister and brother-in-law. We were taking a drive in the mountains and this song came on the radio. I thought how lucky am I to be in such beauty.
I saw him at a private concert once and his lyrics move me so much. This reminds me of when I lived in Colorado. I miss it so much :) he has so much talent!!

He was doing railroad work in Colorado and he had to go back to Arizoina, but he made an impresssion on my life and showed me alot of life that I was missing in a short time. He was a good friend and man. I miss you Blake, I wish we could talk sometime.

I once (was drunk) put $5 in a hardrock poolhall jukebox, played this song like 20 times in a row(songs were 25 cents a piece at the time & we were booted by the way). I saw an old friend awhile back and he said hey man you have to see what i have. He showed me a cassette of Coast of Colorado he said that day in the 8 ball lounge was something he'd never forget. Fast fwd 25 years... I no longer drink (Praise God!) and I still think Ewing is my favorite alive singer. Keith Whitley being #1.
Thanks for sharing your story. I am also sober. I remember playing the same songs over and over on a jukebox when I was drunk. Thank goodness those days are over. Wish I could find his cd.
My husband died in 1997 but for 10 years we traveled each winter to our little beach on the Sea of Cortez to spend 3 months in Mexico. I can't even imagine what the trek down that scary two-lane road from Idaho to Baja would have been like without this cassette. After all those years, I still listen to this to lull me to sleep....ah, such sweet memories. Thank you, Mr. Ewing and God bless......
OMGosh! Thanks a million, Kenny Chesney, for having Skip on with you tonite at Red Rocks to sing this beautiful song! What a wonderful, wonderful surprise! Have never seen him in person before (had only seen you once in Greeley many summers ago) but I agree with many other posters on here, he has a beautiful voice. Christmas Carol has been one of my fav Christmas songs ever since it came out and I look forward to hearing it every holiday season. A very special nite with my dtr and friends
