Omg i just joined another choir and my voice keeps cracking when I get to E F area and the conductor explained that’s a special area in which everyone’s voice (sopranos) crack (some Italian word I can’t remember!), so this is exactly what I need right now. I will be going to the high notes video for sure
You are talking about the passaggio. I have a whole playlist on it! 😃. PLAYLIST: Passaggio (bridge) - HOW TO NAVIGATE THROUGH IT SMOOTHLY! ua-cam.com/play/PLaWjWxiTysDAsuVFcVCRgX8xhNx7u4Qsw.html
Yep, it happens to me as well. I keep practicing the techniques in Victoria's passaggio exercises and find it's getting a little less cracky over time.
@@Victoria-Victorious yes!
Yes I’ve been dissecting my voice lately and something that I’ve realized is the back of my throat was so closed it was creating this really gritty sound. So I’ve been implementing a yawn into my voice and not only has it helped me go into my head voice more easily but it’s smoothen out my voice a lot.
Looking fabulous today, Victoria! Thank you for helping me be a better singer!
I’ve been singing with my head voice daily for months. I can reach higher, but I wish I could sing more freely and louder
What do you mean? Technically or because you're shy? I struggle with the latter which obviously impacts the technique
I have lots of videos covering that. See my playlists on Freeing Your Voice and also on How to Sing With More Power & Volume.
For vowel modification, what I understand to be "taller" vowels, is actually the short version of the vowels. Ah= ă /AY= ĕ/EE= ì/OOH= ə. OH doesn't need any modification. Visualizing the phonetic form of the short vowels helped me.
Reviewing this video. I just had another breakthrough for high notes and not flipping into treble. I was thinking "slide". Then I saw "glide" being used and thought about how the mind perceives "slinding; usually its downward. And to think about sliding upward is to think of exertion. But "gliding" is perceived as like "smooth sailing". This one change in visualization cues helped me to finally breakthrough into beautiful higher notes without flipping into treble or adding too much resonance to compensate.
Thanks Victoria always appreciated !
I love your short teaching videos! Please continue ❤❤❤
Love this!
Thank you great explanation!
Thank you
Grateful 🙏🙏🙏❤🙂
I was told to imagine having an egg in the back of my mouth and that works for open throat for me 😅
Great! Glad that works for you! That is a common image, but may be too much space for some singers. It always depends on the style and sound that you want. 😊
This is very helpful, thank you 😁, i always struggle to get to high notes without my throat becoming tight and straining, but practice makes perfect. I'm definitely going to practice this 😁😁
See my entire playlist on Singing High Notes. ☺️
Wow you are in my country how I wish I could afford to join your class I want to improve my voice in singing various genre..😍
I'll be back next January. I have been a guest instructor in Manila for many years. I am a Filipina (Fil-Am).
Sis!!!❤❤❤
Hi Victoria! I’ve been following you for years and have been wanting to purchase your Exercise Program for a while now, but since I’m still not sure whether I’m an alto/mezzo soprano/soprano, I haven’t yet purchased it. Would you recommend me to purchase one of the combined voice type packs, and if so, which combination would be best? Or should I see if I can find out my voice type? I still see myself as a beginner, hence why I feel like my current range isn’t completely set just yet. Thank you in advance!! 😃🙏🏼
Hello! In answer to your question, each program covers 2 1/2 octaves in range. If singers are not sure of their voice type, I recommend ordering alto/mezzo-soprano for women and bass/baritone for men, especially for beginners. That is for lower to medium voice types, so unless you consider your voice to be high, this should work. If not, you have 30 days to switch to the higher voice category. Some singers do order 2 programs if they have a large range.
OMg you're in manila? I hope you're enjoying your stay! Are you holding any workshops/classes while you're here?
Hello! I am back in the US now. I guess you missed all of my announcements. I taught 2 big classes. I have been a guest instructor in Manila for many years. I will return next Jan!
You look so gorgeous, Teacher.
I learned that you're supposed to make a small space in the back of the throat / narrow the pharynx, or so, but this seems the opposite, or did i missunderstand something? I interpreted small space as make it more narrow but i find myself contracting.
It always depends on what kind of sound you want, what style you are singing, etc. I have lots of videos on the Open Throat. Also see my playlist on Resonance.
@@Victoria-Victorious thank you! ive been experimenting with bringing the air in different ways, some times i feel it more from front and sometimes closer to from the back (deeper within) realized 2 diff sounds! the 2nd one i can go higher with thou haha. I'll look, ive watched your videos alot and theyre very helpful!
@@Victoria-Victorious re: my comment didnt go through. Just wanted to say thanks, your videos have helped me alot, i will look at them!, Ive been experimenting lately with bringing the air around different ways, from deeper, closer to the back, and sometimes i feel it more at the front of the body, realized diff sounds but both works :D Been struggling with the higher note techniques thou, so much information out there haha. I will look at open throat and the playlist thank you again! This page is a goldmine
Mam u so beatiful love you❤💋
I feel that my voice sometimes suffocated could you please help me avoiding that
I’d have to see and hear you to tell. See my playlist on Freeing Your Voice.
Thank you for the technique tips and hope the cops haven't found you yet
You might get more views if you post full videos on how to get better with warm-ups and guidance in between longer videos means you hold viewers longer and then that’s what’s most important two minutes and 40 seconds isn’t enough time for UA-cam to advertise what they want
I think you are missing most of my channel. Of course, 2 minutes and 40 seconds is short and that is on purpose. I have lots of videos that are 10-19 minutes long. Haven’t you seen them? I always refer to my longer videos in these shorter ones. Plus, a lot of people like short reminders.
Wow Manila phlippines?
I have been a guest instructor there for many years! I also have family there! 😀
😍I'm a filipino but im working here in madrid spain my name is nathan shout out please for your next video 😀 i'm your silent student im watching your videos everyday my daughter also love singing 😊
