- “Life in prison was… hell,” Gucci Mane says in this video interview produced by The FADER and conducted shortly after the iconic Atlanta rapper transitioned from maximum security prison to house arrest, where he’ll be until September. But after three years in jail, he is also three years sober.
“I was on drugs so bad, I talked different,” Gucci says. “When I was smoking damn near a pound of weed every other day, I was congested. When I was drinking lean like crazy every day, I was out of my mind.” Despite all the clone rumors, he says he’s not so much a different man as he is “a sober, more conscious Gucci.” Addressing that chatter directly, he adds, “It’s funny. I embrace it. A clone is, like, perfection. So if I look like a machine or a robot, then I’m doing something well.”

This is what I like to see, when the prison system actually rehabilitates someone.....good for Gucci for turning his life around and bettering himself, I wish many others would do the same.
That's because Gucci has too much to lose, all the money and success still waiting for him. Real people get out of prison and don't have much to look forward to in life, and go back to the same neighborhood. Big difference there....
schof215 I have seen some circumstances where people have come back to nothing, but didn't want to go back to prison so bad that they changed their lifestyle completely and made themselves better. Its a situation that's few and far between but its always good to see, gives me some hope in humanity.
