    Davie, that was utterly mesmerising. You definitely make that look easy but I know it isn't. I stopped salmon fishing decades ago so for now I will concentrate on your wild brownie patterns but I hope some day to build up my skills to be able to tie flies like that. You are such an inspiration and I hope you continue to share these skills with us all. I am truly grateful that you dedicate your time to sharing the skills required for the art of fly tying. Thank you. And as always Thanks for the tips. 🎣👏👍

    I've caught Northern Pike on this pattern too. It's a great way to get a relatively large profile that still casts easily.

    Great looking tube fly mate. Always a pleasure watching the Master tying beautiful flies. I was wondering if you could help me with getting a pair of plover wings my friend? I like using natural feathers when I’m tying my north country spider patterns. Thanks for sharing with us. Best Regards from West Virginia, Ken 🦃🦆🐜🎣

      The last skin I bought I got from Cookshill Tackle here in the UK though I know he has a long waiting list, do you have a Facebook page?

    Dear Master, would it be a problem to put the opossum hair without the fur strip?It would influence the fly's swim?Thank you so match

    • @DavieMcPhail
      @DavieMcPhail  3 роки тому +1

      Hi Chus Gonzalez,
      I do tye flies just with the Opossum hair itself as it makes a great wing on any pattern so definitely do this though I would recommend tying some with part pf the skin as it will fish well for you..Thank you for the kind words...

    Hi Davy, on your video of the Tummel monkey you said about a small wing to help balance the tungsten tube, could you explain this a bit more please. I am also looking to tie up some red flamethrower conehead tubes for the Border Esk, any chance you could do one of these please need all the help I can get.

    • @DavieMcPhail
      @DavieMcPhail  3 роки тому

      Hi John,
      I would normally have a long wing to balance the weight of the tungsten tube though I have tyed them with a standard wing length as well but slightly heavier which also helps to get the fly to sit better..
      All the very best Davie..

    • @DavieMcPhail
      @DavieMcPhail  Рік тому +1

      Hi @banned5045,
      What you do is thread the leader through the tube from the head of the fly to the back where you can attach a hook of your choice from a single to a treble..
