@@ToyManTelevision ah well, excited nonetheless! Knowing Dan though he'll probably get bored afterwards and build a normal coach named after, say, his wife? Either way it'll be beautiful
Hmm... why do I get the feeling that I have seen that image at 3:16 before? Interesting video. Dan Markoff is a good guy. He's done some fine work on that E&P equipment.
It looks like a photo I took and used as a thumbnail for a video about the Eureka, but I could be wrong. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if someone has taken it and put it all over the internet.
CoasterFan2105 Oh wow! Yes, I just grabbed that off a web site. Gee I hope you are Ok with that? I have like 100 images of dans locomotive, but all on film and few digitized.
Yeah, it's not a problem. In fact, if you ever need a digital photo of something like that, let me know and I'll see if I have anything. I've amassed quite a collection of them over the last few years. I actually have better photos of the Eureka that I could've offered you had I known you were doing this project. It was really nice to see how the work is progressing on that combine he's building.
Nope. Need to. It’s finished. But no “headliner”. Fabric. Needs to be made. But Dan is so tired. Health problems. Others will step in but Dan wants to finish it. And he will.
If I remember correctly No 8 was built in the late 1870's. It went to the N-C-O when the Northwestern Pacific was standard gauged. When the N-C-O was standard gauged it was used as a storage building then sold to someone for a dwelling and they built a A-frame over it. In 1975 it went to Flint, MI and was rebuilt for use on the tourist train. The other cars held more passengers so it was not equipped with brakes and draft gear until long after I left in 1984. You can see it in a video if you check out the Huckleberry Railroad. There are cars from the D&RG, RGS, Mexican railroads, EBT, and a logging railroad converted to open gon type passenger cars.
Missed your post!! No it's fine, but needs an inspection to run on a railroad. Dan runs it there ate the museum sometimes. But he keeps it at his house.
Hope God keeps him healthy for many more years . We , (everyone younger than him ) kids , need him

jdubbjazzbass Dan is a great guy. Fun, good at what he does, and a lover of history and trains. Cool is as cool does.

Joe G Thanks!! And who knows, we may get to know each other at some point. Life is like that.
Very cool story, locomotive & passenger car. See you on Tuesday.
• Cheers from The Detroit & Mackinac Railway
It is really amazing as this will be given to the future and impact so many generations to come.
North Central Lines On30 I think the best screwing around is the screwing around that gives back. In this case, back to the future.
The interior is just gorgeous!
Great video Thanks for sharing

2448toyman Dan will be back in a few weeks to show his locomotive. Check it out!
Toy Man Television I hope you get a change to film that and post it in as the future episode.
That's what happens when you outgrow scratchbuilding model trains!

jdubbjazzbass The poor Reno! Great locomotive and should be back in Nevada. Many have tried, and some day I'm sure it will come home. Soon I hope!
And on April 28th, 2020, 5 years later it is finally done, on a Tuesday.
Over 20 years total. Wow!! And it’s beautiful
When might we get a look at the car in action? Love you guys
Still working on it I guess. As of a few months ago. Just needs the “headliner”. Special cloth pattern. That’s all that’s left.

I wish the original car, even in great disrepair, could be restored and returned to service.

ELSA reminds me of Huckleberry No. 8 which was built by Kimball for the Northwestern Pacific.
Really? Didn't know!! Need to find out more.

what happened to no.4??? Its not runnin???
is it finished yet?
where is it at???
Missed your post!! No it's fine, but needs an inspection to run on a railroad. Dan runs it there ate the museum sometimes. But he keeps it at his house.
which museum are you talking about? the Nevada Railway Museum?
Nevada State at Henderson. Part of the state system. But very small.
Why can't Dan restore the Palisade car? Couldn't he just buy it or something?
They want to do it themselves. OR did..... Its mostly a ruin now.
Are there any pictures of it? and also I say that theres no point in owning a piece a railroad equipment if you refuse to restore it.
Maby he should restore another steam loco?
NO WAY ! time to fix the roof , mow the lawn, ETC!!!! honey dues decades overdue;0)
