This small town is absolutely amazing. There were so many lovely scenes from this tour that it's hard to say which is my favourite. The scenic mountain views, the stunning, unique architecture of the old stone buildings, the interesting but cute library nook, the incredible display of pretty flowers and plants throughout the town. I especially like the use of the chairs, bicycles and boots! The old castle of Villalago also seems like a very interesting place to visit and full of history. Enjoyed this tour immensely. Great job.
Thank you Lang! I wasn't even sure to film it, as I was heading home, but... stopped by that Sunday and wasn't disappointed for sure. Didn't plan it beforehand either (!). Truly a nice village, very well kept, nice atmosphere all around as well
Thank you Hugo, lots of tiny and small towns around... many of them quite unknown... that's what I'm trying to do with this small channel... to let these mostly unknown towns to be known as well as the major ones. Lots and lots to see
@@StillWanderer Indeed. When we went to Italy (2017 and 2019), while we did do some touristy stuff, we purposely avoided visiting the only cities that north american people seem to visit (Roma, Pisa, Firenza). Instead, we stayed in Padova (yes, we visited Venice...), Bologna, La Spezia, MIlano and Torino, and in 2019, Cortina d'Ampezzo, Ravenna, Parma and Mantova. We visited countless other smallish cities. These two trips were life-changing, literally. I'm binging on info as to how, where and when I can move there upon my retirement.
Hugo , in this case we've truly alike. I always did the same whenever I went, it's a character thing I suppose... Mantova is amazing..would also love to go to Ravenna soon. Lots and lots to discover. As you see, with time I'm moving a bit farther and farther from Rome area. Truly...the towns to be seen are quite a lot 👐 hope you enjoy the channel and the idea !
@@StillWanderer Oh yeah, I just subscribed. Glad to hear that you liked Mantova. Although we prefer towns surrounded by mountains, for some reason, we fell in love with Mantova. I would literally move there tomorrow. If the surrounding scenery was a bit more, well, Italian, it would probably be the perfect place. Ravenna is nice, but you can see most of what it has to offer quickly. Once you've seen a few mosaics, you haven't seen them all, but... It's a nice, safe place though. So we explored around and hopped on a city bus to go to a beach (Lido di Dante) that no one has ever heard of, and it was just great. The locals were supremely welcoming. And the fact that they have Prosecco on tap at the shack on the beach for pretty much the same price as a Coca-Cola? God I love this country! I met a guy last year whose friend has been to Italy 34 times. People kept asking him «why do you keep going there»? He said «because I haven't seen it all».
@@hugolafhugolaf Incredible how much you know about my country then Hugo. Indeed, there's a lot to see, and yup Mantova is among one of my favourite city ever. I was there only once actually... many many years ago but remember it very vividly. I have to say, as I've mostly toured in the center-south part of Italy (apart from Liguria and some Tuscany) I still need to show many stunning northern cities; quite far from here, logistics and all... but will surely go. Didn't go to "Lido di Dante", and had to search it in google now) I understand this way of traveling though... as I was the same. I remember some epic travels in some eastern and balkan countries years ago... a shame at that time I didn't film anything. Been abroad for a few years for work, now here. This hobby of a channel started really like something to "not think" (it wasn't the best of period ...) but I'm loving it now, and can't wait for the weekend to come to tour around whenever possible. Someone could call it an "addiction"... perhaps, it is. Thank you SO much for the sub Hugo!
Kae & Adam, I don't know how to thank you for your support, help, comments and kind words. I'm truly touched biy this and always happy you continue to enjoy the videos. First Abruzzo video... but more will follow, outstanding region, lots of little "borghi" that are truly something .... some of them will be filmed in autumn... maybe even a perfect period for tham. A big ciao! Ric
@@StillWanderer Ok, we just finished the walk and really enjoyed it. There seemed to be a bit more "life" here than in some of the other villages you have walked through, with some younger/middle-aged people sitting around on doorsteps, etc, chatting together. Newer residents perhaps? Also, no tourists, but plenty of characters, and a musical ending...which all gave it a kind of Fellini-esque feeling. Great job...thank you! (Kae wants to know, was that a pile of sleeping black cats a few minutes from the end?)
@@nebbs ohh Guys I see the other message now! Indeed, lots of "life" there that day (just a few days ago!) But a quite peculiar atmosphere i must say. Lucky to live in such paradisiac place DI EMME
@@StillWanderer yes, it is... but in my case, only for two weeks on summer vacation, though...
Perfect!
Dear Sharon, I knew you would have loved such a town, we both love unusual little or tiny ones,so I was sure of this. Glad anyway to find this confirmation. I wrote to you in facebook....
@@vegavit2984 Yes, I did enjoy those. I was going to come back and ask Riccardo if those were local musicians or from out-of-town for a special occasion.
@@vegavit2984 That's an interesting tidbit to learn. It is that type of thing that draws me to these smaller, out-of-the-way towns if only by video.
Yo viviré ahí.
Villalago? Oh... Espero que puedas visitarlo.... un lugar absolutamente hermoso. Bastante desconocido... pero es mejor así. tiene mucho encanto
super joli , a vendredi
Vendredi, il y aura une vidéo de... Portofino... première fois que je dis et écris, donc tu es la première à connaître Line. Tourné en Ligurie.. région magnifique
@@StillWanderer merci,a vendredi ,saluté

I live in Abruzzo
Beautiful Abruzzo Tiziano, I'll film more in the near future... so many towns to be seen and to show. Incredibly stunning region
@@StillWanderer My city is Pescina
@@tizianoventi3813 Bellissima Pescina!

Merci Cher Line!

Please have a made video from city of l'aquila.
Will surely go Antonio, sooner or later. This is the first Abruzzo video, but more will follow... region is fantastic.
Se qualche abitante di Villalago può aiutarmi a trovare una casa in affitto, per favore me lo faccia sapere... in un posto così, io potrei guarire. Grazie ❤
No bird song? Nothing!
?
@@StillWanderer you can't hear any birds singing. It's crazy. Where are they all?
@@sitrepSNAFU ahhh! I didn't remember about this, but actually you're right... didn't hear in Villalago , quite weird and different from other towns
Who would want to buy property in a Crammed little Congested town such as this ? Why no views whatsoever of the homes located in Abruzza's "outskirts" of town where the homes are separated by beautiful foliage near the mountains ? (Home Hunter Videos) ??? And what's with NO MUSIC INDICATIVE OF, Italy's finest composers of romantic music? Too bad Home Hunters doesn't cover this AREA ?
I'm sad you didn't enjoy it Lynda :(
This small town is absolutely amazing.
Truly a nice village, very well kept, nice atmosphere all around as well
@@StillWanderer I totally agree with @A.C Lang: absolutely lovely. So cute the kitties . well done the "sunday stop"!
@@susanadell9885 glad you enjoyed it too Susana! Indeed... unexpected beauty found there for sure
Amei o video !! Mais um excelente trabalho, parabéns !!!
Obrigado Querida Miriam!
Italy is so amazing, it's almost unfair to other countries.
Didn't go to "Lido di Dante", and had to search it in google now)
I understand this way of traveling though... as I was the same.
Intro looks great, Ric, can't wait to get started. Thanks!
Hard to explain but ...lot of people but a little melancholic perhaps? That's how I felt it compared to other cinque Terre walks i did. Loved it though, very much.
At the end...I am actually not so sure !
