Given up trying to get this to work. Previous dashcams iv owned have all been through Bluetooth no issues. Soon as you try and connect via WiFi with this you lose your internet connection.
Wait, where did you tell the Camera to connect to the SSID and PW of the hotspot? That is what I have issues with. I want to add a secondary Wi-fi internet conection
I just installed my U1000 this past weekend (hardwired for parking mode). I am able to connect to my iPhone hotspot. Will I have to reconnect every time through the app, or will it connect automatically? If I have to reconnect each time, how will push notifications work?
Hi Mark, if configured correctly the camera will automatically connect with the network it has been set up with to be able to send notifications to your phone.
I have installed the U1000 camera. But its not getting connect with hotspot, all the time its saying hotspot password is wrong. Thinkware can you please help me?
Hello, I just installed one in my car and the WiFi keeps disconnecting by itself when I am not in the app. So I have to keep Thinkware app opens all the time. Also, when I am at home, I cannot see the parking mode videos. I would appreciate your immediate attention to this matter.
Hi Flnteeno, The camera you have will disconnect from WiFi when you are not in the app as it only needs to connect, to be able to change the settings or download videos through the app. The Thinkware U1000 and the T700 are the only models which can be live streamed while the camera is in parking mode, if you do not have one of the mentioned models, live streaming will only work during continuous recording.
Hi Marta, when connecting to the dashcam wifi the dashcam will not provide your phone with internet access. You will need to click "connect anyway" or something similar to have your phone connect to the dashcams wifi.
Yes I understand. Im trying to connect dash cam with the phone (samsung N22 ultra) On my list on wifi I have clicked THINKWARE_A3 than Im getting 2 massages. 1 "Checking the quality of your internet connection", and than after 3 seconds "Connected without internet" and becomes I dont have internet I cant use the app one the phone. Also why my folders "motion timelapse" and "parking_rec" are empty ?In My dashcam settings in "parking mode" i have chosen "motion detection" ?!?! I totally lost with this dashcam so and help very appreciated!
Mine turns off after a while in “run” mode on my truck is that normal or should it stay on? I also can’t connect to it when there is no wifi. Mine is connected by the obd cable.

@@ThinkwareAustralia I just have one more question about my time zone being changed everytime I start my dash cam at a certain time of day. I've manually set it to match my time zone, but everytime when I start my car to head in to work the time stamp switches to another timezone. Is this a glitch in the dash cam?
@Thinkware Australia, I have an 800 pro that was hardwired installed. I connect to the wifi and the hotspot, but it disconnects after a minute or two. Is it supposed to do that?/ When the car is in motion, is the Q 800 pro suppose to disconnect from your hotspot and wifi to record, or can you have the wifi and hotspot connected and still record while the car is in motion?
Hi Michael, once you have the hotspot set up whenever you switch on the ignition of the car the camera will connect to the internet. After 1 minute it will automatically disconnect unless you open the Thinkware Cloud app and connect to your smartphone. After 1 minute it will disconnect from your smartphone but will stay connected to the internet while the car is in motion.

Delete the app and re-install it if you're on iOS. My Q800 Pro had terrible video quality and Thinkware shipped me a new one even though I was out of warranty. I kept getting that stupid message telling me wifi is on every time I started the vehicle. In order to get rid of that message, you gotta connect to a hotspot. I deleted the app and was able to get the dash cam to say it was connecting to a hot spot, but it failed. Didn't really care as the message on startup went away.
