D6k is definitely only good for fine grading. Would much rather have a N or T anyday. Our 953c is great, you should definitely try one sometime. Love the moto jerseys, AP finally got a win last night!
I know that kicks ass for AP. He only lives like 25 min from me. When I had my shop his dad had a KTM shop in Hamilton. I think a loader would come in handy.

we have a D4 high track dozer we like it, but sometimes would like a D8
A D8 would be cool to have.

Do you have a diecast construction model collection? Need to get a few models and put small decals of your company logo on them would be pretty cool. I have a huge collection of construction models it becomes a sickness.😄

For me the 963 and d6m is a good pair for truck loading and the dozer has enough weight to clear and still finish grade
Thats the nice thing with a loader loading trucks.
i use to operate a 963D a little bit a B and a K and a new 963 next gen. i also operated a pretty much brand new CAT 259D3 and i also ran a brand new CAT 815 soil compactor that only had 99.9 hours on it when i first drove it

@@orschellexcavating5810 it was fun! And ik the 963 isn't as big as the 973 but you still feel very big up there in the 963 cab
Own a 2015 d6n xl. It has 24 inch shoes. It does great in the soft ground, you can get it up to the belly pans without worrying about getting stuck
I believe I weigh around 34k with a ripper and a sweeps package. You weight more if you have the bigger lpg tracks or the bigger blade. I have the 10’4” blade, I am under width hauling I just angle it. Most of the work you do with your d3 I do with a 6n. I would prefer to have a small machine on small jobs, but it’s what I have.
It push’s super well in the bulk applications. You can you decently sized work. They perform well on steep ground. I’m out of California, nothing is to flat out here.
The new d5 replaces the 6N and they are a bit heavier.
Calfire and the department of forestry run for the most part 6ns but they are upgrading everything to the new d5 I haven’t heard to much bad things about them.

D6 N is the best all around dozer cat makes just my opinion
Good to know I want to run one. I think its one of the best looking dozers made.
If you do get a chance to run a D6N I would interested to hear your opinion. We have one where I work but a different dept uses it so I've never actually seen it in action.
A 953 or963 are the way to go they take a place of a dozer and trackhoe within reason there like a swiss army knife but like you said they are just too damn high.
I think one would really come in handy. Maybe if I find one at the right price. Hell today I was looking at fecon machines. This business keeps you broke.
$460,000 for 963 tracked loader, it could never pay for itself.

I was at the Cincinnati location. When I get shop in order I will go through all that stuff.
