The Portland Trail Blazers defeated the Orlando Magic, 88-71. Michael Devoe led Portland with 18 points and 6 rebounds as Shaedon Sharpe added 12 points. Dexter Dennis led the Magic with 16 points while Quinndary Weatherspoon totaled 11 points, 6 rebounds, 6 steals, and 5 rebounds for the Magic. Portland improves to 3-1 while Orlando falls to 0-4

Kai in his debut's first minutes is nothing short of impressive! He was given a very short time to play yet he showed he's got promise.
He is undoubtedly an NBA material. I can only see him getting better over time.
Whoever gets Kai will make that team a buzzword for years to come. He is definitely an asset to any teams.

I didn't watch the game, just the highlights. But from this few possessions alone I know he will never make the NBA. He is to slow, to unathletic for the NBA. He could make up for it with playmaking and effort but it doesn't look like it at all. Summer League is full of guys that will never make the NBA and yet there are 10 guys on his own team that will see an NBA court before him. I'm sorry, that's not meant to be rude, to me it's just clear reality.

The atmosphere where Kai made his first appearance in the Summer League was not so inspiring -- a team scoring only
19 first half points! It was like 20+ points behind when Kai was brought in. The environment did not offer any motivation
to play at all. But Kai Sotto performed very well despite this situation in his abbreviated minutes on the court. Offense and
defense. He showed that he can play in this league. I am impressed. And I believe the Magic would not have this losing
streak if he had been part of the rotation. Very young with a high ceiling.

Kai did very well for someone who was benched in the first 3 games. That is a sure way of losing your confidence in yourself but he just shrugged it off and showed what he can do on the court if only he is given enough playing time.

It's a resounding success for Kai regardless of the outcome. He is the embodiment of a regular journeyman. He may not be a top-quality player, but he's a local hero, adored by the few, and he is a hardworking guy whatever team he plays for.

Bench for 3 games, is to assumed that he played before. No he wasn't benched for three games, he was DNP coach decision because most of the other guys need their time. Kai was just to fill a spot on the summer roster. He will get little chance, BUT he need to use those little chance and NOT jogging up/down the court with his shoulder down and no expression. JUST compare Kai to the other C/PW, they moves, they jump, they push, rebound, etc...and look at Kai again, standing around under the basket. Could have been called 3 second violation.
Yet Kai played well here with limited minutes than Wemby's first game with 27 minutes, ayt?

I am glad Kai sotto was able to play and was able to show decent performance. His first 2 shots are decent including that perfect mid range shot. He has to improve on defense though. The third shot is a fadeaway he still has to improve on that. The dunk part, may need a bit of control to make sure it will fit the rim perfectly.
I hope he'll be hired again for summer league next year or be signed in the G League for him to improve further.
His third shot in this vid was poor shot selection. Still a lot to improve but this is a good start
The guy run like an old man. He needs to move fast from D to offense and back. He need to get in the post and use his body. He is just standing and waiting. There is no urgency on that body and that face. He got to play every second given to him like his last.
If he's still improving then the NBA is not for him anymore he and the Philippines must accept that Kai Sotto is not a good basketball player especially defense

kai's really a good passer unfortunately there were no cutters inside. Playing with a good point guard will let kai do what he does best to finish wit an alley hoop dunk and continously score inside. He's done that in nbl and b league wit former nba big men guarding him.
