Do you feel like I'm missing anything here? I'm still experimenting and learning about encrypting my own data, so I'm open to feedback here in the comments. Thanks for watching!

I would love to see this channel have a basics course for older individuals. My parents would benefit from this. Your approach is just right for older individuals. Anyone reading this please thumbs up maybe it would be considered.

Oh yes, what a great idea! My dad recently asked me how to turn off biometrics and PIN on his cell phone; unlocking the phone was just too much of a hassle for him!

Advanced Data Protection really works from what I've heard. My buddy that works with a task force has complained a lot about it since even with a warrant there's no data for them to get.

Hey Josh. Another great video. I want to see you do a video about Bitraser by Stella.
People need to be warned that fragments of their data may still remain on their computers even after they empty the recycle bin.
Bitraser can be used to properly erase it :)

I use almost all the services from your review. But also for the purpose of hardware encryption I use «Istorage» products (SSD, USB)

Nice video! As for cloud, no big surprises there. I use both Proton and pCloud. However, as an almost exclusive user of iPad, how can I encrypt my external SSD (mostly my photo archive), since File Vault is only on Mac, as well as most encryption softwares. If I encrypt my external SSD on a Mac, will the iPad be able to read it? Thanks a lot and keep up the nice videos. Love your channel!

Great video. I did try Cryptomator and it's good, but I didn't stick with it because you have to work the way Cryptomator works and not the other way around. What I really want is a way to encrypt a folder in macOS that I can browse with Finder or any file utility after entering a password, add files or remove files from the folder while it's open and for that encryption to follow the folder around, e.g. if I back it up to a NAS or the cloud. Ideally I don't want folders mounted as volumes because with lots of folders things get complicated very fast. As always though, it's the security vs. convenience issue.

NAS devices are very affordable now. Use your own: Synology, QNAP, etc. Your own PRIVATE cloud. Use a 2nd one offsite as a backup. 👍🏻

What happens if your drive becomes corrupted with the encryption. Will you be able to recover it??? I had that problem and I was lucky to have all my files back on one drive. Well my 3 main folders.
In addition, it is also depends where you are at and where you are going and how much encryption you need and for what. Some document are just junk document so I don't care. Recipes. But Taxes, yea, encrypt that. etc. There is also a laundry list but I leave that up to you all.
