Full synthetic is completely fine for either primary or engine oil. Just have to make sure it's rated for "wet clutches" I use Lucas 2w50 full synthetic specified for wet clutches and have absolutely no issues in either my Buell S1 or Harley Sportster 1200.

Instead of removing the muffler you can make an oil catch out of foil that guides the oil to the pan.
Never add full synthetic oil in a primary you will mess the wet clutch bud
