I drove a rig for a little while, Los Angeles to New Jersey. My hat's off to truckers. They are the backbone of this Country. Thanks for all you do! Great video, Sarah Jane.
Being a truck driver for 34 yrs and a fan of your channel Thank you for the "Thank you" as a life long trucker I can say we appreciate it. "Keep on truck-in" WonderHussy 😘
I was a trucker for 45 yrs and 4 million miles no accidents so I really enjoyed seeing you so excited to see those things in there. Have been there many times. I LOVE your videos, look forward to them every week and never miss one. So like they used to say, Keep the shiny side up and the greasy side down..and the bugs off your glass and the bears off your a** (you know).. Stay safe and keep up the good work and God bless you. This is "Hot Wheels" (now retired)..out....
We have a converted school bus that our family of 5 road trips and camps in (cheap way to RV). We visited Iowa 80 about 4 years ago and did the whole experience. Spent the night, showered, did laundry, ate breakfast at the diner (it was a great buffet), fueled up, and toured the museum. Fun place to stop, and neat experience! Thank you for allowing us to relive the experience! Next time through, you have to go to the museum across the parking lot! Definitely worth it!
I'm a disabled former otr trucker for 16 years. I've been through Iowa 80 a few times and it was one of my favorite stops. I miss driving and seeing all the beautiful and not so beautiful sights. It was certainly an adventure and no two days were the same. Stay safe in your travels and on all your adventures. Your channel is awesome. Thanks for this trip down memory lane.
As a big fan of your and being a retired Over the Road trucker, it was great to Visit the Iowa 80. It has always been one of my favorite stops. Brought back some great memories of meeting old friends, getting out of bad weather, and shopping in the chrome shop. Thank you
I hope a trucker watching this offers our WonderHussy a ride in his or her rig after all this pandemic is over. I find it hard to believe you've not been in a trucker's seat. My brother was a coast to coast driver for years ... got married in his late 60s and now drives local out of Tulsa OK. GO TRUCKERS!!! May God be your sidekick driver.
Sarah you crack me up! I laughed at all your comments. “Barry might be a Lot Lizard!” 😝 Your energy makes me smile! Love people that like to have fun! Thanks for sharing your experience.
Best way to wear a mask- hanging off of one ear. Retired trucker of 40 years. I've been to the Iowa 80 a few hundred times, if not more. I always stopped there when I was in the area. Pulled a reefer in 50 states and Canada for 10 years. Also hauled logs, furniture parts, fuel. groceries and more.
"I ain't got no panties on" is the "request for man lovin" if you are a "Good Buddy " that's slang for being a gay man. Chicken coops is scale house. There are so many more.
Omg did she say from Australia at 16.37 are they little dimenties on berry’s flip flops he ain’t no Aussie rip off that mask I reckon it’s Bruce Jenner x bear grills with that woman’s looking fur coat on lmao
I have watched so many of your videos and have never left a comment until now. This one is one of your best! I have never given a second thought to any truck stop until I watched this one. I will be stopping here on my next cross country trip
Wonderhussy is definitely just like a fine wine only better. The pleasure her videos bring to me excite my taste-buds for adventure like no other, Your vicarious adventures savor across my mind as a fine wine does misted across my tongue. I get a feeling of intoxication from your most welcome perspectives of our great country. And it is a bonus that your not to hard on the eyes Thankyou Wonderhussy

Kool Sarah, vary good music, and at the worlds biggest truck stop, nice , my a trucker, or at least I’ve been accused of being a truck driver, thanks BigAl California.
Excellent reportage, thank you Wonderhussy and Barry for taking the time to create this cross country episode. Glad that you both arrived home safe and sound.
Thank you Tracy. We are in this together. Politicians will try use us for their gains, but we will continue to serve our patients no matter who is in control.
Ive been a truck dispatcher for 10 years now and the trucking lifestyle is definitely a fascinating one! I got to visit that truck stop 19 years ago and it doesn’t look much different
You are amazing and I love your excitement for the littlest of things like this. You know what they say, when we grow up our toys get bigger and more expensive. I remember paying for a big rig back in the early 2000's and it cost about $200 grand.
Next time you're out and about travel you see a driver with his truck walk up and ask him to show you around and explain how it works and how the trailer hooks up to the fifth wheel on the back he'll be more than glad to give you walk around and show you talk about his truck
thank you sarah for the sincere thanks and appreciation, us truckers don't get much of that,we usually get cut off then flipped off! always enjoy your uploads.always entertaining and interesting
Well, well, well, my wife and I are on a road trip, and I saw the sign on I-80.......Walcott, Iowa!!!!! Then I remembered your video I watched a while back. Okay, we HAD to stop. I did, and with a BIG smile on my face.....as you should say.....WOW-ZERS!!!!!!! It did not disappoint. Man O Man did I ever have to exercise some self control. Thanks Sarah for your video or else I would have never known about this place!!!.........Russell D.
Thank You so much for the tour of of the BIGGEST and MOST important truck semi stop in the USA . Your humor on site and beautiful singing/talking voices are always the most enjoyable of any woman I have heard. You need to prep for America Has Talent. I love you sister from another mister.
The lot lizard is generally a nocturnal animal and tends to stay out amongst the rows of trucks, which they crawl around, over and in, hence the lizard moniker. You probably won't see many, or any, hanging around the populated and well lit areas. 😉 The horseshoe thing has a V-shaped opening which accepts the pin on the trailer. It works like a funnel, guiding the pin into the locked position when you fully seat the pin in the receiver. A catch, operated by a lever and handle retains the hitch. It would take a magnet big enough to fill the truck to hold the tens of thousands of pounds of shearing force generated. The Jake brake is a system that uses the back pressure of the engine to slow its self down and makes a very loud, violent sound. It's even caused people to wreck when someone pulls up behind some little old lady in a Volkswagen and scared the heck out of her. They're often not allowed in residential or downtown areas. A truck has a lot of lights and other controls, each requiring it's own switch. There can be a lot. There is a horn on the steering column like a regular car but the "whip tip" you pulled is for the air horn. Truck not running, no air, no horn. :) Some couples/families live and travel the country in their truck because they never spend time at a house, anyway so, they spend the bucks on a truck. BTW, the driver's daily log is a legal requirement to ensure the driver is staying within the safe limit of hours of driving per 24hrs of a day. If you don't have that log book, you're in trouble!
MY FATHER AND BROTHER WERE BOTH RETIRED TRUCK DRIVERS. I LOVE THE HOME LIFE SO I JUST WORK ON THEM. GREAT VIDEO AND FUNNY WATCHING SOMEONE GO THRU THERE WITH LITTLE KNOWLEDGE OF WHAT THINGS ARE. GREAT VIDEO AND STILL LOVIN YOUR CHANNEL.
This is your best video ever!!! I'm a retired trucker and I couldn't stop smiling looking at the I 80 through your eyes. I used to stop there every time I was on I-80. Love you and your videos,, keep up the good work. My last truck was a Freightliner classic conventional with a condo sleeper just like the one you sat in.C B Handel Hiwayman.
There are 2 air systems in the truck cab for safety and 2 horns, the pull rope horn works on air like the brakes and suspension. The air compressors only work when the rig is running. I am not a trucker but my Freightliner RV is similar in idea. Keep on trucking!
Great video Sarah, my Dad left my Mother back in 1980 for a lot lizzared who he later married, he met her at a truck stop. She was six years older than him, she must have had some talent in the old sleeper cab.😅😅😅😅😅 Truckers are what keeps the country moving, just got to love them. Glad you're back, hope all is well.
The ether is for cold weather starting. A few years ago , I spoke with a husband and wife trucking team. They loved it! Got to go all over the U.S. and Canada , and meet all sorts of interesting people. That truck stop is on my bucket list. .Awesome video!

Keep on truckin', Wonderhussy! Loved this one. I hope you get a chance to go to the Truckers Jamboree when the pandemic is over. Barry is certainly an interesting character. He lives in Death Valley? Baby Jesus! I for one would love a video about how he came to live in DV by way of Manhattan. Anyone who so fiercely loves cats is OK. He's a big Chewbacca. Stay safe out there, dear WH.

The horn on the steering wheel is for the electric horn that sounds like a regular car . The overhead cord is for the Air Horn(s) .
When it rains, all the lot lizards do handstands in the parking lot to flush things out! LOL
