    I got a 1-0 shutout a few months back in that set. Brought me good luck lol. Glove was awful.

    Great review. It's good to see a reviewer, not just Dick Vitale every product and tell me how it's the best.

    Sometimes I feel like I wanna give CCM pads a try… and then I watch Matt review them. Thanks for reminding me not to bother brother! LOL

      I would say there wasn't a tonne wrong with EFlex 5 and the Axis lines.

      Any idea why pads do this (lift up off the ice)? My old Kenesky pads did the same thing.

    • @HockeyReviews
      @HockeyReviews  Рік тому

      Can be a number of things. Strapping, boot shape, overall pad design. For these in the RVH it is partially the boot and the knee. In butterfly it is the knee block and core doesn't sit great.

      @L7spider Рік тому

      @@mikehogan8442 I’ve found that a tapered boot on a flexible pad is a big time culprit of this.

    Love my CCM Eflex 4 but will be moving away from them most probably to True PX9. You are right that their player gear is excellent! I wonder if those two division really share tech?

    i just got a good deal on some new e flex 5.5 i know they are the mid grade pad but the quality is still decent !! but there isnt much different ! keep up the good reviews brother !!

    As a new tendy and bought the CCM Eflex 6.5 (first brand new pads, was on a budget and settled on these for now). After months of use, definitely can confirm on the pad seal issues. For those considering, I'd certainly look away from this line. I know I have the bottom end set of the line, but the straps aren't too different either and found them relatively awkward and the knee block to not be great either. Buyer beware and honestly when the budget works for me, will be buying different brand for sure.

    I use Axis 2.9 leg pads and they have the same wear guards on the top of the pads, and they are absolutely useless. I've been using the pands about 3 times a week for 6 months, and they've already been worn through. It seems useful in theory, but it's neither thick or hard enough to make any meaningful difference.

    Still think the eflex 5 is a better over all Design .They messed this up greatly with the 6 .

  • @macmasks

    Great review. I was really excited to maybe move to the eflex 6. Now I’m not so sure. At least not without going and spending a lot of time in a Pure Hockey store.

      Like I showed, some peoples' custom sets are much better than these in terms of pad seal (still have the cord on the sliding edge though). So if you can find a pair that seal considerably better they would be a big step up from these.

      Don't be scared off by this video. I have a custom set, max rebound and weave instead of speed skin. These are exceptional pads.

      But this is a custom set... with weave and max rebound 🤔

    you think the True slide better than the Bauer vapour? I had to get rid of my Trues because I didn’t think they slid good at all. Had to use so much energy just slide over. so weird.

    • @HockeyReviews

      Yeah, both of my PX3 True slide better than my Hyperlite 2 and previous Ultrasonic. Not sure about the Hzrdus yet though.

      Lightweight, comfortable, athletic form-fitting, good lower belly coverage, game ready movement, but be prepared to be covered in bruises all season.

    • @TPGoalie
      @TPGoalie Рік тому +2

      I use the Axis 2 chest, and I really like its mobility. The chest has really good protection, but the padding in the arms is terrible, and it feels like there's barely any padding.

    Do you ever test and review mid tier equipment?

    • @HockeyReviews
      @HockeyReviews  Рік тому

      Not usually unfortunately. Most of the gear I get I have to buy, which usually means I will buy custom stuff and I wouldn't be able to get mid tier gear in my specs.
      The sets like this is a demo set, and stores don't really run demos of the mid tier gear.

    Any chance you could get your hands on the new Brian’s Iconik pads and give them a try?

    Made in China. Seems like the actual material but it's actually not, faking till you're not making it when it actually matters.

      These aren't made in China. The country of manufacture isn't the problem here.
