For those asking what mods are in use, I had over 200 mods turned on at the time of making this. The majority of them are either outdated, no longer exist, or got absorbed by other mods. As this video has been out for MORE THAN 2 YEARS it is borderline impossible for me to produce a list of the mods for you.
So uh... this happened. I don't know why I did this. Deal with it.
To point out the obvious, some of XCOM 2's soundtrack plays during this video. I'm not Timothy Wynn nor am I 2K Games incarnate, so I don't claim rights to the music.
Additionally, yes, that is music from Halo 3 and Halo 3 ODST playing. I am not Martin O'Donnell nor am I Bungie incarnate, so I don't own the rights to that music either.

Reminds me of my game where Master Chief, a Grey Knight space marine, Doom Guy, Big Boss, an ARC Trooper and Gordon Freeman (with crowbar) rolled the ADVENT like it was the final battle of a Super Robot Wars game.

I love how XCOM 2 has almost Skyrim-level moddability. One time I had so many installed, it took like 20 minutes to load in a save from the Main Menu.

Just lose most of your outer colonies, let an alien infestation go free and make it to Earth, and then have Africa get glassed before traveling to an artificial giant dinner plate of doom and eradicating the local infection and taking down the alien force that attacked you in the first place during the chaos...

Yeah, If I remember correctly, it is explained that humanity had their asses handed to them most of the time because of the Covenant's ridiculously advanced weaponry that eats through steel easily (apparently it was most problematic at the beginning). I remember there was a ratio that every cov. ship would effortlessly take down several human ships before it got destroyed. Also, correct me if I am incorrect, but I think the cov mopped up a lot of the outer colonies because of the insurgents forcing the military to be too spread apart.
That just makes me want XCOM style Halo game so fucking much.

Shiina...how many mods do you have total that are being used here? Max I used for a game run is just about over 100. Most are graphical though, lol.
232 here. I think it may explain the 10 Fps and loading times. Worth it. Although at this point it's a case of finding new ways for things to break.
I have no goddamn clue what my specs are but mines a laptop so it fails off the starting line anyways XD
EDIT: Found something, mine says i7-4700MQ GEForce GT740M and RAM 12GB, don't have a clue what that all means though, I'm not into technospeak. Also the laptops like 4 years old now so it's probably underspec.

Sniper at 1 square distance, 0% chance to hit... I take the shot... it says miss, but the enemy literally just poofs out of existence, it was against an advent officer.

PoisoningShadow671 also would be horrifying to fight against. Give Spartans Pilot abilities and you might as well have a force that can't be stopped even with a force greater or equal to it.

i literally bought this game just for the mods and holy i don't regret my decision buying this game. it's an amazing game. vanilla or not vanilla. the mods make it way better though

You should get the spartan class mod, its super strong early and falls off hard late game, perfect for players who are trying to learn to play at commander/legendary.

You have no idea how bad I want a Halo game with the style of Xcom. Would easily be my top game of recent years if it happens.

This was me during my 4th run through of the game after beating it at the highest difficulty. Mods are so much fun till next DLC comes out.
I plan to uninstall Long War 2 till it gets updated for WoTC XD as for the other mods I'm pretty sure most of them will work still after DLC.
As someone who plays on the PS4, I just had to do idiotic shit and see what works in commander instead of mods. Currently going for a 6 fully trained psi ops final mission. Though I have ew on pc so maybe I can get long war

This is anything but normal, his whole squad should be in a shallow grave with antics like that in an unmodded game.
5 frost bombs is NOT normal.
Trust me, don't get used to it. Without mods, the whole squad (even with the best vanilla gear) would be dead in 3 turns of breaking concealment.

shredder cannons are supposed to do 8-11 damage... these babies critted nearly every enemy they encountered and did up to 24 (crit) damage.. only enemy not critted took 6 damage.... 6???? 24??? cannons are nice but they aren't this OP
also xcom-troopers had way more health than aliens had which i think is bit weird too.. Muton having 10 when your soldier has 20 (with 5-6 armor!?!?)? It weirdly seems like he has end-game-guys and gear in early-game-missions.
(I like mods, i have picked some myself but i always try to balance it out so there is some challenge and risks.. this gameplay didn't seem fun to me at least not on long run.. like maybe i'd like to test things like that once and feel good being OP... but generally i don't see myself trying to complete game with gadgets like that).
Ive never played this game so I wa really confused at first to what was and wasnt a mod, then I heard the Halo shotgun sound, realised that there was a vanguard from Titanfall, and that what was called "aliens" were people in suits. (and the Halo music obviously)

In my own opinion if you just get "mod everything reloaded", mod your sword + bladestorm & reaper, the ranger breakes the game.

im gonna try to explain it as simple and calmly as posible. The joy of playing on highter Difiiculty and especialy xcom is overcomming the challenge after trial and error putting the difficulty up just to use mods to make it easier just plain simple as in matter of FACT defeats the point.And i woulnd use the word (hardcore) but proud coz like i just said we achived it after many attemts learning from mistakes. If anything this just makes me want to buy the game even more I loved halo but I dislike how it's becoming Destiny so this gives me even more of a reason to get this game
The issue is that if you use mods like this that let you waltz through missions like a train make it boring. It's not like you have to use tactics if you can just shredder cannon the whole Advent army
and yet everyone this is a singeplayer game meant for mods they can play it as they like and actually a lot of this is modified files from those mods..considering I own some of these mostly cosmetic mods...2 class mods infantry and trooper and everything else is the same...I added in the halo reach weapons for my halo playthrough but their base damages all match vanilla..even added more enemies to the field and long war 2 more enemy types as well as all pods active which regardless of mods is quite a bit harder..his are definitely modified a decent amount others are just broken mods.
there is nothing wrong with playing vanilla few times and adding quality of life or simple cosmetic mods to spice things up..you can always add mods that increase difficulty..just learn to actually balance the game so that your mods don't overpower the enemies and vice versa..you don't want the enemies onshotting or just straight up outplaying you with overpowered abilities...unless youre a masochist and prefer to pretty much always fuck yourself over but generally speaking as of now a lot of these mods work well together and are attuned to work together to keep things mostly balanced but you have the freedom to edit the inis any time...besides if you want easy mode vanilla just cheat with the console ooo so fun...

XCOM 2 : War of the Mods
ODSTs, Halo Reach's Spartan IV armour, weapon skins for a lot of Reach's weapons. Please someone start working on rigging elites and other Halo enemies up so we can get a complete Halo overhaul. Imagine the stunlancers but with energy swords, invisibility, and over 7ft tall. Also Brute Cheftians with grav hammers smashing people like the SPARKs. Terror missions could be flood outbreaks, much with chrysalids they would multiple and reanimate the dead. Spartans are unlocked like psy troopers are, you're bulk is just different marine classes then you can buy special training to give them ODST status (which can enable concealment along with other bonuses so you can get the helltrooper vibe and relive Halo: ODST). It's a huge task but it's the perfect franchise to choose if any group of people would ever consider taking on the achievement of completing an insane overhaul.

Yeah, the halo weapons pack is pretty OP. I get criticals like crazy on the SMG, the Shotgun crits fairly often too.

In all honesty surprised The current halo devs havnt attempted to do a halo game with xcom mechanics into it. Controls for xcom 2 on PS4 is good enough if should perk properly. The halo universe is fitting for this game style and they can introduce mechanics and features from halo. Also ppl say they won't think of it gonna say this: if friggen Nintendo and sega can team up to do s xcom like game on a switch and if the devs of halo sees mods of this using halo suits and such then for sure they at least mention this among themselves.
