Awesome video. Thank you for showing how you set your bait up. I have mine taken from the hook all the time and I think with your method there will be a lot less free lunch sessions on my end for these fish. Keep up the good work!
Thanks! It was great of Ben to demonstrate how best to do that. We’re looking forward to shore fishing more with that method!
Used that method with my bait launcher this weekend but the cold weather and me being a moron lead to the thing exploding haha. Didn't really get the opportunity to try out the new setup.
Thank you for the info. What kind of line/string were you using to wrap around the bait? We are new to the area and are going to be trying this very soon off the beach in Nikiski.
I don’t remember specifically, but I think it was just regular string. Nothing fancy. Now is the time to go fishing! Nikiski has some good spots! Good luck out there!
I would disagree that it's cheaper on a charter. I"ve spend a lot of money surf fishing for halibut so far!
Where is this? I’ve been wanting to surf fish but can’t seem to find any good spots to pull my truck up!
We were on the Kenai beach near Cannery Rd! We haven’t shore fished enough to know if it’s a good spot, but you can drive your truck out there!
The best chance of catching a Halibut is to fish two hours before the high tide and two hours after the high tide
Geez talk faster…..it……was……..a………good……… video…………………thanks
We were still getting comfortable in front of the camera. Thanks for the feedback!
